So I was driving my son to the beach this morning when I decided to tune in to the '70's station on my satellite tuner.
The song that was on bored me, so I went to another oldies station, then changed to another one for the same reason.
I finally turned my radio off and decided to just talk to my kid.
He took his headphones off and wanted to know why I turned the radio off. Now he was forced to talk to me.
I told him that all the oldies playing bored me, then I remarked that the problem with my '70's station was that there wasn't much new '70's music being recorded these days.
"The '70's are dead", I said, to which he deadpanned "Taken in their prime too. Shame."
This thread is dedicated to nothing but "new" (or newer") music. I believe that we're living through a revival of good pop music driven by great singer/songwriters and great bands.
So, no old songs allowed.
No artist that you listened to in High School, or that have grandchildren or arthritis.
No doo-wops.
No baby baby's.
No shing-a-ling-a-lings.
No sha-la-la-las.
Nothing older than your current automobile.
Welcome to the new age, to the new age.
