ISTANBUL (Reuters) - An unidentified assailant fired gunshots at the headquarters of Turkey's main pro-Kurdish party overnight, but there were no casualties, media said on Saturday, in an attack which could stir tensions ahead of a June general election.

Bullets were fired through the sign outside the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) offices in the Turkish capital Ankara, Dogan news agency reported. No other damage was reported.

Police were not immediately available to comment.

The HDP is aiming to exceed the threshold of 10 percent of the vote needed to enter parliament in the June 7 election and opinion polls indicate its support is currently around that level.

Yep - same people, with small variations. Kurdistan is basically split between Iraq, Syria and Turkey. They are not happy about that at all and, back when Turkey was playing nice to get into NATO, the YPG managed to get itself listed on the terrorist list.
