BREAKING: John McCain Pressured Obama IRS’s Lois Lerner to Attack Tea Party Conservatives

It wasn’t just the Obama Regime and the Democrats who were scheming with the Obama IRS to attack the freedom-loving, Constitution-supporting Tea Party grassroots movement.

It was establishment-backed Republican Senator John McCain, an unabashed enemy of conservatives who once called his conservative colleagues, “wacko birds.”

According to a new IRS documents discovered by government watchdog group Judicial Watch, “retired” former Obama IRS head of exempt organizations, Lois Lerner, was pressured by both Democrat Senator Carl Levin and Republican Senator John McCain to rein in political advocacy groups.

In May 2013, Judicial Watch reveals an email communications which show coordination between Lerner, Sen. Levin and Sen. McCain:

Quote

A May 1, 2013, email exchange between Lois Lerner and other top IRS staffers revealed that 11 days prior to Lerner’s admission in a ABA meeting that the IRS had “inappropriately” targeted conservative groups, she met with select top staffers from the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee in a “marathon” meeting to discuss concerns raised by both Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) that the IRS was not reining in political advocacy groups in response to the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.

Senator McCain had been the chief sponsor of the McCain-Feingold Act and called the Citizens United decision, which overturned portions of the Act, one of the “worst decisions I have ever seen.” Among those attending the meeting were key aides to the committee minority ranking member, John McCain:

The article connects some very distant dots in order to make a sensational claim.  An aide to McCain was at a meeting with Lerner?   Prove where the aide pressured Lerner to target conservative groups.  I'm missing that smoking gun.

I took the liberty of removing [Breaking] from the headline, but left it as is, in the body of the article.

Thought it was a real stretch to make "Tea Party Conservatives", his exclusive target.

IMHO McCain would and will do everything in his power to destroy true conservatism  If that meant harming the tea party there is no doubt in my mind that he would gladly do so.

I wonder if Doug Ducey would entertain a primary challenge against this increasingly insufferable dotard?

I know he's only in his first year in a big job as Governor but the guy is really impressive and there is a GOP politician designated to be his successor should he win the Senate seat.

As much as I don't like McCain, I can't see his doing something this directly illegal and unethical.

I don't think he hates the Tea Party enough to encourage Lerner to break the law.

That, to me, doesn't fit what I know about him.

Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

Within days of his "whacko bird" remarks, he apologized. Within days. This charge based on one email, about a meeting he didn't attend.

This article regards this issue, nearly two years later. Some agile footwork there, Judicial Watch -you know, the ones that brought down Pres. Clinton?

Outfits like this shoot off scattergun volleys of weak spitballs, hoping to hit something and make it stick.

Here is one such weak spitball. McCain shrugs it off with a chuckle.
