Pollster Zogby: Rand Paul Could Steal Hillary's Youth Corps

Sen. Rand Paul could give Hillary Clinton a run for the money with his entry into the 2016 presidential race, veteran pollster John Zogby says.
"He cuts into Democratic support among younger voters," Zogby, CEO of Zogby Analytics, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"He actually gets double digits among African Americans, which is significant."
In addition, according to Zogby, Paul has a bit of a rebel quality about him — something Americans like.
"He's … seen as the anti-candidate and voters still have an element of that wish list — somebody who appears to be fighting a bit," he said.
And just how libertarian is Paul, a Kentucky Republican, and what does it mean for his chances as the GOP nominee?
"He always has been a consistent libertarian until the last three or four months when you see him shift on some social issues and some defense issues and some foreign policy issues," Zogby said.
"If he runs as a libertarian … he carves out a pretty substantial niche for himself and a sole niche for himself within the Republican primaries....
"The risk is, ironically, the more he tilts on some social issues to maybe finesse or steal some support away from some of the other social conservatives, he widens his base a bit, but he risks losing some young people who really are more pure on libertarian issues."
