Sens. Graham and McCain: Iran Negotiations Won't 'End Well'

Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and John McCain of Arizona released a statement Wednesday condemning the ongoing Iranian nuclear negotiations.

"We appreciate the diligent efforts to find a diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. However, it is clear the negotiations are not going well," the two Republican senators said in a joint statement.

"At every step, the Iranians appear intent on retaining the capacity to achieve a nuclear weapon. Without significant change, we have little confidence the negotiations will end well," they contend.

"Regardless of the outcome, Iran’s threat to regional security and stability endures. Any hope that a nuclear deal will lead Iran to abandon its decades-old pursuit of regional dominance through violence and terror is simply delusional," McCain and Graham said.

"The Obama Administration’s failure to recognize and counter this threat has only served to expand Iranian influence.”

The March deadline for the framework of the agreement between Iran, the United States and the other five world powers passed Tuesday, and the State Department says that there are still "several difficult issues" that must be bridged before an agreement can be established.

The inability to reach an agreement has led several to call on the Obama administration to abandon the negotiations, including former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean.

State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf has said that Secretary of State John Kerry will stay in Switzerland to continue participating in the negotiations at least until Thursday.

With all due respect, do you really think Obama would have picked someone competent if the Senate refused to confirm Kerry?

John F'in Kerry should be in prison! Instead he is Secretary of State!

What else do you need to know?
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
