Hillary Clinton plans to address her use of private email while at the U.S. State Department after her scheduled remarks at the United Nations later on Tuesday, according to media reports.

 

CBS News, MSNBC and CNN, citing sources, said Clinton would hold a news conference after her speech in New York, which is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. EDT (1730 GMT). Reuters could not immediately confirm the reports.

But word of the event didn't leak out until hours before event.

Hillary Clinton will be holding a press availability today at the United Nations in New York City. But all members of the press won't be able to attend. Only those who requested credentials 24 hours before the event (or about 18 hours before news of the availability leaked out) will be credentialed.

"It's appearing at the UN, which has a notoriously difficult credentialing process. So there's going to be a restriction on the number of reporters who can come in. You had to apply 24 hours in advance for press passes. So I don't know if it is intentional or not, but there will definitely be a limited number than if they held it at, say, a hotel or somewhere else in New York where they could be expected to be mobbed by every reporter and their mother in the city."
