The Obama family recently returned from their 17-day vacation in Hawaii, and now it’s time for the American taxpayers to pick up the multimillion dollar tab. Hell of a Christmas present, Mr. President.

Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman Michelle Yu revealed that the HPD accrued $277,000 in overtime costs for the personnel required to guard the First Family at all times during their stay. Local taxpayers will have to foot that enormous bill. The city also spends around $15,890 annually when the Obamas come to town, in order to have an ambulance on call. Wouldn’t want Barry injuring himself too severely on the golf course now, would we?

Then there’s the cost of flying Secret Service agents to and from Hawaii and putting them up while they’re there guarding the Obamas. The U.S. Secret Service does not release the exact dollar amount of this particular aspect of Obamas’ vacation, but it ain’t cheap!

Watchdog reports:

Quote
Dozens of Secret Service agents were spotted at Ala Moana Hotel checking in the day before Obama arrived. A spokeswoman for the hotel said she couldn’t release details on the number of agents who stayed there, but hotel staff told Watchdog the government rate would be about $200 a night, including taxes.

Secret Service agents, Navy SEALs and Coast Guard officials also rent private homes along the canal near the president in Kailua at a cost of $250 per room per night, according to several residents renting their homes.

The exact cost to transport the presidential limos, helicopters and other equipment to Hawaii via USAF C-17 cargo aircraft has never been disclosed. However, the round-trip flight time between Andrews Air Force Base and Hawaii is roughly 21.5 hours and estimated operating costs are $12,000 per hour, so we’re looking at more than a quarter million bucks just to transport Obama’s luxury rides.

These figures don’t even take into account the numerous expenses that the administration remains tight-lipped about, like rental cars for staff and security.

I don’t know about you, but I’d be exceedingly embarrassed to rack up this kind of bill at a time when the nation is so severely in debt and taxpayers are already so burdened. Share this report if you feel the same!
