Rahm Emanuel Reminds Us That It’s Okay For His Servants To Have Guns

Rahm Emanuel is the mayor of Chicago. Therefore, it follows (as the night follows the day) that he’s also 1) A Democrat and 2) A gun control nut.
Mayor Emanuel has a long history of opposing the civil rights of the people he is paid to represent. He’s a member of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun-grabbing, multimillion dollar investment known as Mayors Against Illegal Guns. He’s also on record as opposing gun rights in his own city.
However, there are some people that are allowed to have a gun according to Rahm Emanuel: the people that protect him.
A sign outside of Emanuel’s home warns the little people that the place is protected by the United States Secret Service — dudes who are known to carry guns. That sign is apparently left over from when the bad mayor was President Obama’s Chief of Staff.
So apparently the mayor finds that the threat of force by a gun is an excellent deterrent to crime.
We agree.
We just wish he’d be more willing to let the citizens of his great city allow themselves the opportunity to protect themselves with firearms as well.
