A cat would never react like that. But cats have their own subtle ways of showing their pleasure at seeing their owners. One of my kitties always gets on her side and gives a long reverse-C stretch, one hops up on her hind legs to meet my hand as I reach down to pet her, the third (the male) is nonchalant.

That's true AC.  My littlest cat - Mini-Me - shows her excitement seeing us by sticking her tail straight up and "twizzling" it.  The only way I can describe it, kind of quivering!
