Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell has a warning for Republicans expecting to take over the Senate: Be careful what you wish for.
"I think the Republicans, be careful what you wish for because if they win the Senate, they better do something, they better send the president some responsible pieces of legislation or they’ll get crushed in 2016," the former Democratic governor said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."
Democratic Party spokesperson Mo Elleithee warned that a Republican majority in the Senate could lead to another shutdown.
"It is hard to make the argument that Republicans can bring us back to the business of governing because Republicans were the ones who shut the government down over an ideological vendetta against this president, and they’ve signaled they might do that again," Elleithee said.
Elleithee said he's not sure "Republicans know how to" govern, and predicted that there would be more Republican governors who lose in Tuesday's elections than Democratic senators.
