At Least Two Adults, Six Kids Dead After Mass Shooting In Bell, Florida

At least two adults and six children were shot and killed at around 4 p.m. Thursday in a mass shooting in Bell, Fla., The Gainsville Sun is reporting.

Gilchrist County Sheriff's office is investigating and will conduct a press briefing at 8 p.m.

Exact details are sketchy at this time, but it appears it may be a murder-suicide, according to David Snyder of WCJB-TV.

Apparently a father killed his adult daughter and her kids before killing himself.

From the press conference.

Children age 3 months to ~10 years.

There have been "numerous" previous calls for police to the residence.

All the children are the woman's.  Original reports said one child was not.

No survivors when the police arrived.

The location was the residence of the shooter.  Shooter has a criminal history.

Police refuse to tell the media what kind of guns or how many were found.

Suspect called 911 and threatened to harm himself and others.  This is what brought the cops.

No one in the house was alive when the police arrived.

Police confirm the shooter was Don Charles Spirit, born in 1962, but will not confirm his daughter was Sarah Spirit.
