Robert Griffin III has dislocated ankle

Robert Griffin III has a dislocated left ankle, an injury that will sideline the Washington Redskins star quarterback indefinitely.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden announced the diagnosis following Washington's 41-10 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Griffin suffered the injury while rolling to his right toward the sideline in the first quarter. Although he was not touched on the play, Griffin fell awkwardly out of bounds and was carted to the locker room.

After his leg was placed in a splint, Griffin waved, saluted and gave a thumbs-up signal to the crowd as he was carted along the sideline and down the players' tunnel.

Griffin was replaced by Kirk Cousins, who passed for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

Good riddance!

Can't stand the hype!  Can't stand the coverage!  Can't stand the man himself.   He's a legend in his own mind.  A diva in more ways than one!

GTFO!!!

With Cousins at the helm of this team, now they have a serious change to do something good with this season.

Why would a dislocated ankle sideline him for more than a week or so?

Awwwwww crap!

You mean it won't?

I hope the only thing he's doing the rest of the season is standing on the sidelines with a clipboard.

The force required to dislocate an ankle probably tore the joint capsule and quite a number of the check ligaments. This is a nasty injury with long rehab.

....and yet, nobody touched him on the play.

Griffin's got head issues....he NEVER seems to want to take what the play gives him and/or calls for.  He's always trying to be "spectacular" or prove something.

Thank God for Kirk Cousins.....much to the chagrin of the local Griffin sycophants.  (Psychophants....is more like it)

I feel badly for RG but the fact is his body is not built for football. He damages entirely too easily. Cooley put it best today when he said he is "brittle".
I wholeheartedly agree that now, with Cousins at the helm, they have the right man as qb.
Go REDSKINS!

I don't feel bad for Griffin whatsoever.  Screw him.

He's been more concerned with his branding and social media persona than learning how to properly go through his reads....how to stay in the pocket at the first hint of pressure....and using the off-season to do what any little league baseball players learns at the age of twelve.   SLIDE!!!

Can't wait to listen to the talk-radio shows tomorrow....what's that saying?  "Vengeance is mine....."
