Is it Time to Declare War on Mexico?

In March of this year, Javier Jose Rodriguez was visiting family in Sasabe, Arizona, about 30 miles west northwest of Nogales, along the Mexican border. Rodriguez had been drinking some beers early Saturday morning and was driving around the town when members of the Mexican army opened fire on him. He was shot in the arm and side, resulting in a three week stay in the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson.
In yet another incident from earlier this year, members of the Mexican army crossed into the US and drew their rifles on US Border Patrol agents. Sylvia Longmire, a border security analyst recently published a book titled Border Insecurity, reported that members of the Mexican army claimed they were following drug traffickers and got lost, adding:
"However, I believe there was some confusion as to whether that's what the Mexican Army was doing because there was no evidence found by the Border Patrol of any drug smugglers in the area."
"From what I understand, this has happened hundreds of times before."
In 2006, a Mexican army helicopter landed about 300 yards inside the US. There was no prior notice or request from them to enter the US to accomplish whatever their mission was. Ronal Ayers, a resident of Arivaca, Arizona described the incident with the helicopter:
"A helicopter flew very low. Flew around behind the barn, landed and then several men got out all clad in black with masks over their face and body armor, carrying what looked to be full automatic weapons."
Information obtained through the Freedom of Information Act reveals that Mexican army troops have crossed into the US over 300 times in the past 18 years. It’s not just happening in Arizona, but in all of the border states.
While the Mexican army is regularly invading the US and pulling their weapons on our Border Patrol agents and shooting America citizens, it seem that they are doing virtually nothing to keep hundreds of thousands of people from illegally crossing their border into the US. They pose an economic and health threat to the United States and the American people.
The Mexican drug cartels seem to have free rein over areas along the border in spite of the Mexican Army, sending tons of illegal drugs into our country to destroy the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans.
Now the Mexican government has imprisoned a US Marine reservist for getting lost and making a wrong turn.
After serving two tours of duty in Afghanistan, Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He moved from Weston, Florida to San Diego so he could receive the proper treatment for his PTSD.
On March 31, Tahmooressi was driving to meet some friends in the San Diego area. Not knowing the area, he made a wrong turn and ended up across the border in Mexico. Mexican authorities stopped him and when they found all of his possessions including three legally purchased guns in his vehicle, he was arrested and taken to the La Mesa prison in Tijuana. From his jail cell, Tahmooressi told San Diego media:
“I was going to call them after I drove off the exit, but I never got off the exit, I blew right past it. I wasn’t paying attention, thinking I had way farther to go. I ended up in Mexico with no way to turn around.”
Tahmooressi has been charged with three firearms crimes. According to his attorney, Tahmooressi could receive 21 years in prison if found guilty of the charges. To date, the charges against him have not been dismissed and Tahmooressi remains in prison. Mexico expects the US to allow hundreds of thousands of illegal Mexicans to roam free in our country after violating our federal immigration laws, yet they continue to keep one American Marine in prison for getting lost and making a wrong turn.
Support from all over the US has been pouring such as the motorcycle rally that just took place in San Diego.
One of the bikers present, Paul Hawker told the local media:
"We need people to be aware of what's going on. We have a no soldier left behind. He's being left behind in Mexico."
Why hasn’t Barack Obama or Secretary of State John Kerry done anything to help secure Tahmooressi’s release? After all, Obama illegally traded 5 high ranking Taliban leaders for an Army deserter, why won’t he do anything to help a true American military man? Is it because Mexico has no interest in Taliban leaders? Or is it because Bergdahl had denounced the United States and sided with the Muslim radicals and Tahmooressi is still a loyal American?
