Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), a solid conservative from flyover country, was giving a speech and the line was, “Isn’t it high time we retire John Boehner’s biggest excuse, we only control one half of one third of the government,” was interrupted with a standing ovation. The interruption came just before the word “biggest”.
Take a hint Mr. Speaker. We don’t want a Speaker of the House who agrees with Barack Obama on immigration reform amnesty. We’re not interested in a Speaker who celebrates the US Chamber of Commerce tossing $50 million in the pot to defend liberal Republicans who are facing a primary challenge from conservatives.
Most of all Mr. Speaker, we’re not interested in a Speaker who caves in to Democrats on a continuing resolution that shuts down 13% of the government, promises a fight over the debt ceiling and then raises spending when that comes around.
Mr. Speaker, you’ve got a house in Florida, go move into it. We’re looking forward to forgetting you ever served in the Congress.
Oh, and we’re also interested in joining Rep. Huelskamp in welcoming Kansas new US Senator, Milton Wolf after he hands Kansas current Senator Pat Roberts – who incidentally doesn’t live in Kansas – his head in the primary. Please help retire Pat Roberts here.
