With news that Hillary Clinton is running a "shadow campaign" for president, Republican political operative Karl Rove warns that she'll have to do more than hope people will want the first female U.S. president.
Appearing on Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor" on Monday, Rove said that a Sunday story by Politico was "hyped a little bit" and that Clinton has basically been briefed on deadlines and legal requirements.
When host Bill O'Reilly said Clinton's message was simply "first woman president," Rove countered that that wouldn't be enough to raise the kind of money needed to win. Besides, he said, that plan didn't work so well for her in 2008.
"It didn't work so well because it was trumped by first black president," O'Reilly replied.
