Something that is I am finding interesting, that may belong in the prepper thread, is how quickly the stores can be cleaned out with even the slightest break in the system.
Usually we are under the assumption that it would take 3 days for panic to set in and the store's shelves to be cleaned out. This wasn't even a SHTF scenario, but a slight glitch and they were looted in a matter of minutes on finding the glitch. Not for fear of scarcity either, but simply opportunity.
I think this is good reinforcement to always keep, at a minimum, a couple weeks supply of essentials on hand. It doesn't have to be a SHTF scenario, but what could be a common event, a computer glitch. What if the glitch was slightly bigger? Be prepared to simply avoid the rush.
