A reflection.
Consider two Romans, Augustus and Caligula; the former, self-disciplined, stoic
and the Emperor who created the foundations of the Empire; the latter erratic,
narcissistic and self-absorbed who died at the hand of his Praetorian Guard.
Trump is treated w/contempt and derision, over trivialities such as this, because
his frenzied enemies have no fear of him; a cold reality he has never understood.
Machiavelli told us, "It's far better the Prince be feared rather than loved"

No Peace for President Trump on Armistice Day

Canada Free Press
Judi McLeod
Nov. 11, 2018

Excerpt:

Most news networks—including even the weather channels—bitterly criticized President Trump for canceling his visit to a US cemetery in France because of bad weather.

‘Clouds with Drizzling Rain Prevented “Marine One” From Flying Trump To U.S. cemetery near Paris’ (David Cenciotti, TheAvationist, Nov. 11, 2018.)

Inclement weather preventing safe travel in a chopper, like everything else, is Donald Trump’s fault.

[...]

Perhaps the ravenous mainstream media think that they should be the ones who decide when flying in risky weather is safe and not the Secret Service.

President Bonespurs gave up Sunday Golf and a Alpha Gorrilla Attacks Marathon on the Gorilla Channel just to be in France.  Has any President honored our history more?

He’s got an entire fleet of limos at his disposal. He can pass the time by sending out a bunch of tweets.

He’s the damn President in France to observe the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI. Weather be damned, tough guy Trump stopped by a little rain? Our fallen heroes deserved better.

Grow up!  It was not considered safe for him to travel there by land and his helicopter was grounded.

Maybe you can find a valid way to criticize Trump in the future.  I bet you can.
Against stupidity, the Gods themselves contend in vain.

I once got caught up in having to wait while a President had to travel by motorcade and then, go to the airport and fly out or however the logistics were, it was about a 60-90 minute wait.  And that was for the President of the US, what if this had been for a foreign head-of-state, for example,  President Macron flying out of the city? And you know, when I experienced, the President was running late that day....so, I can empathize with the explanation. Hold up a bunch of people in a foreign country on a Saturday, I don't think they'd appreciate it, all of the security concerns as well.

Armistice Day: White House defends Trump WW1 no-show

...

Bad weather and "near-zero visibility" grounded the presidential helicopter, White House officials said.

...

However, Mr Trump was reluctant to bring extra disruption to Paris traffic for a last-minute motorcade, his officials said.

"President Trump did not want to cause that kind of unexpected disruption to the city and its people," press secretary Sarah Sanders said, noting the trip was 60 miles (96km) north-east of Paris.
