I still say Rocky & Bullwinkle was the greatest horrible-animation cartoon of all time.

The lady herself was very attractive, by the way . . .

@EasyAce

Yeah,but it was her voice as Natasha on the Bullwinkle and Rocky Show that really pulled pre-teen strings I didn't even know I had. She was the only reason I ever watched the show. She would say something in that heavy Russian accent,and I'd get a little dizzy.

What did you expect from a girl who was in love with a horse? ;)

@EasyAce

A video the typical Rocky and Bullwinkle viewer weren't old enough to watch?

Passes away. RIP.

http://newsbake.com/entertainment-news/music-entertainment/breaking-country-music-legend-just-found-lifelss-home-will-missed/   This article tells more, saying he was largely a country music artist who had a crossover pop hit.
That's sad to hear. He was a pop artist first, really—he had quite a few soft rock hits, then he flipped to country in the early 80s like a lot of other soft-rockers.

My personal favorite of his:

Marty Sklar, pioneering imagineer who channeled Walt Disney, dies at 83

Quote
Marty Sklar had only just graduated from UCLA, and here he was shadowing Walt Disney, his demanding new boss.

The fledgling writer was unsure how to make himself useful, but he had a mind to scribble down some of the maxims Disney laced into conversation.

“Know your audience.” “Tell one story at a time.” “Wear your guests' shoes.”

Long after his mentor's death, Sklar recognized the treasure-trove of wisdom he had started compiling at Walt Disney's elbow in the late 1950s. He distilled it all into "Mickey's Ten Commandments," a widely circulated creed that remains a touchstone in the theme park industry.

The commandments were a cornerstone of Sklar's own 54-year career at Walt Disney Co., where he led the creative development of the Burbank company’s parks, attractions and resorts around the world, including its ventures in the cruise business, housing development and the redesign of Times Square in New York.

Sklar died Thursday in his Hollywood Hills home. No cause of death was given. He was 83.

Geez I took my kids to the latest despicable me movie the other day and rather enjoyed it but it got me thinking what ever happened to the cartoon voices I remember as a kid. To be honest I'd never heard of her before today but RIP June Foray ....you made a lot of people happy...

R.I.P. legendary voice actress June Foray
By William Hughes

June Foray, the voice of Rocky The Flying Squirrel, Granny from Looney Tunes, and literally hundreds of other beloved animated characters, has died. Heralded as “the first lady” and the “queen” of voice acting, Foray’s career in film and TV stretched for 71 years and more than 300 credits, embodying everyone from Magica De Spell to Dorothy from The Wizard Of Oz. As reported by Variety, Foray was 99.

Oh no! Oh no! She was, the best female in the voice over business ever! I'm really really bummed about this. She was a legend.

RIP. And thank you, for all the marvelous voices. I'm really going to miss you.

She did Rocky and Natasha and scared me on the Twilight Zone as the talking doll,and the talking slot machine. She had some range. She also had me laughing when she was on Married with Children.

I'll tell you all something if you won't laugh. When I was in high school I wanted to do voice work. My idols were Mel Blanc and June Foray.

I did amateur radio in HS and college.

I'm not laughing, @Freya.

I got to do professional radio for a few years. Loved it!

if there were a way to get into that— and I firmly believe that I have the voice to do that sort of thing professionally— I would love to try something like that.

I have a face for radio, which is why I did it to work my way through college.

Why would anyone laugh, many of us when younger played around doing impressions, some were very good but very few make that transition to professional.
