Denver Students Protest Instruction in Capitalism, Patriotism, Respect for Authority

by Sara Noble • September 24, 2014

You know things have gotten bad when students are protesting a school board proposal to change U.S. history classes to promote patriotism, capitalism and obedience to authority while putting less emphasis on historical civil disobedience and social strife.

Students walked out at the thought of it. They and their parents have been taught socialism. Free market capitalism and respect for authority is out, angry protests are in.

This has been going on for two days and it is being encouraged by the teacher unionistas.

“Students at my school plan to walk out of classes in protest of the Jeffco school board’s new proposed Advanced Placement U.S. History Curriculum Revision Committee which aims to teach students to become more ‘patriotic’ and less ‘rebellious’ by portraying the history of our country in a better light,” Arvada West High School student Jack Shefrin told CBS Denver.

The controversial U.S. history proposal came from school board member Julie Williams, who said, “There are things we may not be proud of as Americans, but we shouldn’t be encouraging our kids to think that America is a bad place.”

Many students just wanted out of class and hadn’t a clue what the protest was about.

Teachers are angry because the revised history lessons are tied to the a different proposal to link their pay raises to evaluations. I disagree with that also but they can thank the leftists and their Common Core for that.

The students want honesty but what they have been getting is anti-American propaganda. They think the opposite is the truth.

This is how we got the anti-establishment Occupiers of Wall Street, the decidedly unAmerican bands of communists, socialists and open border radicals that are beloved by Democrats.

Denver public schools actively seeks illegal immigrant instructors whether they are educated or not. It’s about the ideology, not truth, not reality, only ideology.
