Man who released video of Ahmaud Arbery shooting comes forward
By Alicia Cohn - 05/08/20 02:23 PM EDT

The man who released the viral video of the deadly shooting of Ahmaud Arbery is a Georgia defense attorney, First Coast News reported Friday.

Video of the shooting, released anonymous to a radio station and then online Tuesday, brought the February shooting to national attention and preceded murder charges brought on Thursday.

Alan Tucker released the video, he revealed Friday.

Tucker has been unofficially advising the men now charged with killing Arbery, according to First Coast News.

“There was entirely too much speculation, rumor, false narratives, and outright lies surrounding this event," Tucker said in a statement obtained by The New York Times.

Since the video's release, President Trump has called the footage "very disturbing" and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden called for a "swift, full and transparent investigation."

Did Biden say that some time ago? Or did his handlers forget to tell him the guys had been indicted for murder?

I’m not sure releasing this video by a defense attorney no less, did his “unofficial” clients much good.

What did you see?

I heard three gunshots. I saw nothing by the deceased, indicating he deserved to be murdered.

ON FR it was claimed by some, re "resisted" alawful citizen arrest, by grapbbing for the weapon.

I did not see him "resisting," as if resisting somebody about to kill you is somehow wrong.

I read claims on FR of local robberies, but to date no mention of same.

The decesed was well known for his frequent jogging.

I have read nothing about stolen goods on his person or at his home.

Maybe turn it around, and ask WTF the perps had in mind?

https://hotair.com/archives/allahpundit/2020/05/06/shooting-ahmaud-arbery/

Quote
Let’s go step by step here. Step one is Georgia’s statute authorizing citizen’s arrests in certain cases:

Quote
A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge. If the offense is a felony and the offender is escaping or attempting to escape, a private person may arrest him upon reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion.
...
Step two is the police report. Back in February, Greg McMichael and his son Travis were on the lookout for a suspect in a rash of burglaries in their neighborhood outside Brunswick, Georgia. Ahmaud Arbery was spotted running through their neighborhood. McMichael, a former cop — repeat: former — thought Arbery matched the description of the suspect. ...
...
By his own description, McMichael hasn’t seen Arbery commit any crime and yet has two cars not only in pursuit of Arbery but attempting to cut him off in the middle of the road. ... And he had a good reason to be running through the neighborhood: “Friends and family said he liked to stay in good shape, and he was often seen jogging in and around his neighborhood.”
...
... Imagine being Arbery, having two cars following you and trying to cut you off in opposite directions so that you can’t escape, then seeing one man in the truck in front of you step out with a shotgun in his hand.

At 0:15 it looks like Arbery was planning to jog left past the McMichaels’ truck but is confronted by Travis McMichael, so he veers right and runs around the truck along the right side. At 0:20, he comes around the front of the truck to find Travis McMichael brandishing a gun and lunges at him — as a shot goes off. Greg McMichael, standing in the truck’s bed, appears to have taken a potshot at him judging by the wisp of smoke over the truck.

1. It was in not a lawful citizens arrest.

2. The McMichaels, therefore, threatened Arbery with deadly force - their vehicles and guns - illegally.

3. Arbery could, legally, have defended himself with deadly force, but instead tried to avoid the men assaulting him. And got killed.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? I don't know.  A guy living with mom, needs some items to sell?  I DON'T KNOW.  He does NOT live in that area.  Anyone think with COVID-19, that people need income?
-----------------------------------------
His father, Marcus Arbery, said Ahmaud was fit and athletic. He said Ahmaud lived with his mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, who has a listed address in Brunswick, Ga.
A 911 call obtained by USA TODAY details the moments before Arbery was shot dead when a caller indicated a "black guy" in a "white t-shirt" was in Satilla Shores on a property under construction.

"And you said someone's breaking into it right now?" the 911 operator asked.

"No, it's all open, it's under construction. And he's running right now, there he goes right now," the caller said.
The 911 operator later says she is sending police to the scene but “I just need to know what he was doing wrong.”

“He’s been caught on the camera a bunch before . . . It’s kind of an ongoing thing out here,” the caller says.
The caller said during the call that there had been break-ins in the neighborhood.

Gregory McMichael told police he believed Arbery was the person seen on a surveillance video breaking into homes, according to a Glynn County police report. Gregory and Travis McMichael then grabbed their guns, got in their truck and chased Arbery through the neighborhood, the report say.......

The Glynn County Police Department said Thursday that it had no reports involving burglaries or home break-ins in the Satilla Shores neighborhood between Jan. 1 and Feb. 23. However, local media reported that one burglary, an automobile burglary, was reported to police in the Satilla Shores neighborhood during that time.

Glynn County Commissioner Allen Booker said the killing of Arbery has rocked the local community and many residents were frustrated with law enforcement's failure to make an immediate arrest. “I’m pretty sure most of the people out there are pretty shocked by it," Booker said of the murder. Booker, who is black, said he knew there was racism in Glynn County but never expected it would escalate to a killing. Booker said he has been working with local clergy in recent years to improve the black community's relationship with the police. "The black community has always had issues with law enforcement here," Booker said. (I don't believe anything Booker says=L.A.)

Gregory McMichael is a former Glynn County police officer.

Glynn County is 69 percent white and 27 percent black.  Satilla Shores borders Brunswick, Ga.—  a town of about 16,000 that is 56 percent black and 37 percent white.

In Brunswick, 37 percent of the residents live in poverty.

Cason said in an interview Friday that while his commission has no jurisdiction over Satilla Shores, the two communities have close ties.Cason, who is white, insisted that racism and racial profiling were not common in the southern Georgia communities. Cason said he is “heartbroken” by the killing of Arbery. “Emphatically it was the wrong thing to do," he said.

Arbery had a police record.  McMichael knew him from prior incidents.

McMichael, 64, a former Glynn County cop who worked as an investigator in the Brunswick DA’s office, helped prosecute Arbery in the past, Barnhill said.

This is why neighborhood watch should not be armed.
The point of neighborhood watch is to see something and call the Police.
Once he called 911, his responsibility was over. He has no mandate to chase and arrest the guy.
That is not his function. They were just pissed that he refused to "obey" them, so they shot him.
They were in no threat of imminent harm that they didn't cause themselves.
It is called neighborhood WATCH, not neighborhood Police or neighborhood militia.
These 'watch' guys go out armed and loaded, they get Barney Fife syndrome.
They are looking for some reason to use the weapon.
What's the fun in carrying a gun if you don't get to shoot it?
This is an echo of the Zimmerman case, only much worse.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

My marathoning husband doesn't run "in his own neighborhood," because it's too hilly and not fully paved. Just FYI. There are a lot of reasons a person might go elsewhere to jog.

Man who recorded Ahmaud Arbery shooting receiving threats, lawyer says
By Sara Dorn
May 9, 2020 | 8:35am

The man who shot the consequential video of Ahmaud Arbery’s killing is now receiving threats amid cries for his arrest, his attorney said.

The revelation comes after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation revealed the identity of the videographer, William “Roddie” Bryan, and announced he is under investigation.

“Mr. Bryan, his fiancee, his children, his siblings and other family members, friends and neighbors now live in fear despite the fact that Mr. Bryan has committed no crime and fully cooperated with the investigation into the shooting,” Bryan’s attorney, Kevin Gough, said in a statement to First Coast News in Glynn County Friday.

Bryan, a neighbor of accused killers Greg McMichael and his son Travis, captured video of the Feb. 23 shooting while trailing Arbery from his vehicle. ...

@ Pete. WRONG.  Why isn't he 'jogging' (cough)....in his own neighborhood? 1.)  Running around new construction..... 2.)
Helping himself to items? 3.) LIVING WITH .....MOM. 4.)
.....

1.) Do you know any runners? You, the kind who do 3 or 5 or 10 miles in a run and therefore go through multiple neighborhoods? Who run often enough that they go to other areas for the sake of variety? Who visit friends and run in their neighborhood? Who do their runs near where they work?

I have done all that, walking ... personally ... most within the past 30 days. Doing a 10K recently I went through two or three cities on a trail that connected two parks. Not in "my neighborhood", but I don't have to worry about cars and traffic signals on the trail. In another recent 5-miler, I probably went through two cities on another trail, not the cities I went through in the 10K, and probably 10 or 15 miles from my neighborhood..

2.) Ever heard of parkour? Ever seen a runner go through parking lots or vacant lots? Your apparent unfamiliarity with runners is leading you to think sinister things runners commonly do.

3.) BS. The guy grabbed stuff and continued running with it? *****rollingeyes***** Runners might carry a water bottle or two, but that's about it.

4.) Young adults living with their parents is suspicious? Are? You? Serious???

Wow! Talk about a sinister runner! This dude has a whole gang with him,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ue2vQZtxfE . He ran on every street in his home town of Dublin, CA ... shoulda stayed in his 'hood! :sarc: I've heard he has been spotted running the streets of Livermore, CA as well.

Atlanta newspaper reports:
Quote
GBI reviewing additional video footage in Ahmaud Arbery case
By    Brad Schrade Bert Roughton Jr., The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

GBI agents in the Ahmaud Arbery murder investigation are reviewing additional video from the Glynn County neighborhood where he was shot to death as they piece together the minutes before the fatal confrontation that has drawn national attention to Georgia and its justice system.

Investigators are reviewing the tape, recorded minutes before the Feb. 23 killing, to gain a better understanding of what transpired before the shooting. ...

The video shows a man wearing a white shirt and shorts, who appears to be Arbery, 25, walking down Satilla Drive on that Sunday afternoon. It shows the man walk into the garage of a house under construction and then walk around back of the house. The tape indicates that man was on the construction site less than five minutes, much of the time out of view of the camera. He did not appear to take anything from the house.  ...
Rest of story and video at link

Some have observed that Arbery didn't appear to be wearing running garb. Of course, that doesn't justify the shooting or even a "citizen's arrest," since it does not appear the McMichaels actually caught him in the act of doing anything except running.
