Kamala Harris Proposes 10 Hour School Days

Senator Kamala Harris has a new proposal: ten hour school days.  This would put children in school longer, and give them less time at home with their families.

The Hill reports that the Harris’ Family Friendly Schools Act is designed to create a “pilot program to give schools funds to stay open during the entire workday throughout the school year, as well as to invest over $1 billion to boost summer learning programs.”

Harris believes her proposal will help parents who have a working schedule as well as children. “My mother raised my sister and me while working demanding, long hours,” she said, “So, I know firsthand that, for many working parents, juggling between school schedules and work schedules is a common cause of stress and financial hardship. But, this does not have to be the case.”

The 2020 presidential candidate added, “My bill provides an innovative solution that will help reduce the burden of childcare on working families. It is time we modernize the school schedule to better meet the needs of our students and their families.”

Oh this figures.   Because under "Kamala's Plan" ... taxpayer parents will have to work longer hours, two or three jobs, etc.... just to pay the higher taxes the rats will impose upon the middle class.  The state will, of course, take control and custody of the kids during those work hours.... all the better to continue indoctrination (brain washing) of the next generations of voters/taxpayers.   I would call it the "Hive Plan".... replete with all of the leftist socialist Borg-style programming of the masses.

I had junior high and high school from 7 am til 3:30. Then there were extra curricular activities and most days I had an average of two hours homework from AP and other prep classes.

Figure in PSAT and SAT prep and what not... and Most kids who went to my junior high and high school did this, and just about everyone ended up in Ivy, Junior Ivy and Seven Sisters schools. I’m grateful to my parents for making me do this, even though at the time I wasn’t to happy. Especially going to all the extra summer school classes at the local university hoping it would look good on when I applied for colleges.

So in addition to turning schools into restaurants, Harris wants to now make them into surrogate parents.  Hell, let's take the kids away from the parents completely, house them at dormitories in the schools and give them their other basic needs like clothing, medical care, etc.  Parents can now have children for the good of the state, not for themselves.  Sorta like the old communist countries.  Hell, it would make it easier for the state to more completely indoctrinate the kids and turn them into mindless robots for the state.

You are right,of course. The only thing surprising about it to me is Harris is being subtle about it.

Of course. How can they report on incorrect thinking or actions by their parents if they don't spend SOME time with them?

We don't need 10 hour school days to teach.  We need teachers who want to teach and children who want to learn.  That is why home schooling is a far superior education.

That's because I'm not revealing how grotesque your lord and master is, and you're not automatically defending him.  Most people are capable of logically analyzing issues they are dispassionate about.  We would likely agree on most issues if President Trump is taken out of the equation.
