That just isn't natural.  There are damn few dogs that will attack a child,and even then the child usually is the one that started the attack on the dog,and the dog is responding in self-defense.

It has been MY experience that even in those circumstances the dog will do his or her damndest to run away instead of attacking a child.

Bets are off if the child is attacking a puppy that has "mama" around,though. *I* consider those cases to be the child's fault,though. You really  can't blame a dog for protecting  his or her puppy.

PLEASE don't ask me how long it took ME to figure that one out.

Even the ones you "win" are almost never a "clean win". I can't close either hand all the way anymore,and some of my fingers want to point in odd directions.

I had a full-grown Doberman follow my  mean-ass cat home one day,and follow her into the house after the cat scratched at the door to be let in. Lived on a 15 acre former horse farm out of the city with no neighbors. I have no idea HTH those two got together and decided to be friends.

Especially the cat,who just moved in one day when I opened the door. She wasn't friendly with anything until that Dobie showed up. They were sleeping together and grooming each  other within a day,and the cat was still snarling and striking at ME if I tried to touch her.

Most enjoyable! Thanks! I think my favorite moment was when a family of dogs runs to the gate to bark at a dog approaching the gate from the outside. One dog falls through the gate and then just turns to partner with the new dog to fuss at the dogs inside the gate. He just wanted to rumble. It didn't matter with whom.  :silly:

So an option... (note to self during next hurricane)....

Anyways ... get a kiddie pool ... and put plastic down inside of it and top it with some sod ... put it out in the garage, patio or wherever .... that way your pet has a place to relieve themselves without fighting the elements. The sod can be dumped later. I think it would be smelly after awhile, but when you have extremely inclimate weather it sure beats them doing their business in the house or you having to go outside with them.

   I don't even have a Dog. 

   I know I'll get another rescue Dachshund, sooner rather than later.
