@Kamaji Racoons are VERY friendly animals who are extremely easy to get along with, and to tame. One thing to keep in mind though,is to NEVER try to pick one up that doesn't know you. You will be VERY sorry if you do. Trust me on this one.
I feed the abandoned cats behind a local shopping center every day,and once I was catching cats in a capture cage to take them to the local vet for shots and neutering, and one day when I showed up to check my capture cage, damned if there wasn't a full-grown coon sitting in it,as calm as could be. As I am standing there wondering how I can open the cage and let him out without gettting eaten alive,I see something moving under his belly. Damned if there weren't two feline kittens in the cage with him,and both of them were hiding under him.
I finally managed to get the kittens out,and then I took the cage and drove a couple of miles up the road to let him out again. He ran away when I opened the door, but stopped maybe 20 feet away, and just sat there and looked at me until I got back in my truck and drove away.
You would THINK he would have killed and eaten the kittens, not tried to protect them, and they obviously were not afraid of him.
Once again, because it can NOT be said too often,DO NOT TRY TO PICK UP A RACOON THAT DOES NOT KNOW YOU! Trust me on this one.
