listening to it right now.....

I wish we could find a live version.  I enjoy seeing it performed even better than merely listening to...especially wind instruments

I like my speakers up all the way...but it's past midnight and the loft amplifies LOL!

Somewhere, there's an audio recording of my playing this piece with some classmates in HS.

Heard this at the close of Levin's show tonight on the way home from 9-ball.

I thought what a beautiful political commercial could be make featuring white and black..Hispanic, Asian...I don't give a damn.

But make it on the level of a SuperBowl worthy piece...from the Republican Party of 2014.

It could change everything.

That's a beautiful rendition, Luis.  Best I've heard/seen.

My father used to always ask me to play that when I was a boy.  Not having enough life or love experience at the time, I see it was terribly lacking in comparison.

Eva Cassidy was simply one of the greatest song stylists of our times. Gone too soon.

Quote
In 1993, Cassidy had a malignant mole removed from her back. Three years later, during a promotional event for the Live at Blues Alley album in July 1996, Cassidy noticed an ache in her hips, which she attributed to stiffness from painting murals while perched atop a stepladder. The pain persisted and a few weeks later, X-rays revealed that the melanoma had spread to her lungs and bones. Her doctors estimated she had three to five months to live. Cassidy opted for aggressive treatment, but her health deteriorated rapidly. In the early fall, at a benefit concert for her at the Bayou, she made her final public appearance, closing the set with "What a Wonderful World" in front of an audience of family, friends, and fans. Additional chemotherapy was ineffective and Cassidy died on November 2, 1996 at her family's home in Bowie, Maryland. In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated and the ashes were scattered on the lake shores of St. Mary's River Watershed Park, a nature reserve near Callaway, Maryland.

This is random, for sure, but I found a bunch of old bowling videos on YouTube and have been watching them now and then in my spare time. Nothing really of value, just cheap entertainment, I guess.
