yDna (y-chromsome) is passed down via paternal genetics, and mutates very very infrequently. I'll venture you have a 4th-5th cousin with the exact same male line that is at or near identical.
There is a huge contingent of those in UK, and generally western Europe who share the "R" type or Haplogroup (me included). If you watch the pattern of migration the past 10's of thousands of years, our "R" ancestry migrated through a lot of Russia.
