Iran-Oman Hormuz Route 'Agreed To' As Iran Warns Against US 'Interference'

Summary
Iran says Hormuz route is agreed: Tehran says it has finalized a shipping route with Oman, blaming U.S. actions for delaying a final agreement.

Tehran claims victory: Iranian officials say the deal would lock in Iran's wartime gains and strategic leverage over Hormuz.

Mixed messages: Trump says a deal could come within days, while Iran insists the talks are only with Oman.

Draft outline emerges: Reports outline Iranian oversight of inbound traffic and Omani management of outbound shipping.

High stakes as pressure eased on markets, but geopolitical tensions high: A deal could ease energy market fears while leaving Iran with more influence over Hormuz than before the war.

They toy with Trump like a cat playing with a ball of yarn. Trump bombs them some more. Then they promise to surrender. Trump stops bombing. Then they toy with Trump like a cat playing with a ball of yarn. Rinse and repeat. What a war.

In the mullahs minds, I think this is a long term, sustainable, governing strategy.

Someone needs to slap Trump in the face with a bluefish, and tell him to wake up and smarten up.

The Iranians have Trump embarassing himself, and America, in front of the world.  Trump is displaying strategic impotence.  Trump has no long game.

Netanyahu talked Trump into dropping bombs on Iran AFTER Trump had claimed the previous bombing raids obliterated the Iranian nuclear program.  The plan was probably dependent upon the misplaced belief that the Iranian people would rise up and instigate regime change from within.

Now, because the mullah's greatest weapon is fear, the population is to afraid of the IRGC and too distrustful of the US and Israel to risk their lives to protest the regime in public again.

So, here we are, in a foreign, military, economic, and strategic purgatory with no negotiable way out.  If the status quo remains, and the US-Israel-Iran return to a detente, Iran emerges as the strategic victor because the US just ceded de-facto control of the Strait of Hormuz to Iran.  Iran will continue to be a regional and global agitator.

Trump is not succeeding for the same reason John Gotti was a bad don - no long game.
