Where is Heaven?
« on: Today at 05:14 am »
Not located in physical space

Not inside the universe

Not reachable by travel

Often described as a different dimension, alternative reality, or state of existence

The St Andrews Encyclopaedia of Theology notes that heaven originally had a literal “above the sky” location, but modern thought treats it as metaphysical, not spatial.

It resides only in the fertile imagination of those who believe.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

"If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people."    -Calvin Coolidge

The Coming of the Kingdom

Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Luke 17:20-21

It is simply in another dimension, coexisting with ours.

Of course the materialists deny that.

Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

It resides only in the fertile imagination of those who believe.

Science continues to correlate all we see and know with the Holy Bible's claims of 2,000 years ago.
The first sentence in the first book of the Bible was only verified in the 20th Century discovery of the Big Bang.
The profound fortuitous interdependencies which surround every person on earth did not simply "happen."  They are all products of the Brilliant Creator.

I pray you do not find rest until you learn the truth.

It’s on the 7th floor… according to Paul Nicholas.

You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

If you deny The Creator, you must believe that:

•   nothing produced everything
•   chaos produced order
•   mindless matter produced mind
•   meaningless processes produced meaning
•   blind forces produced moral obligation

That’s not skepticism. That’s naivete.

If you trust reason, recognize information, live by morality, and do science in an ordered, fine-tuned universe, you are already standing on the ground that screams “Brilliant Creator”—the only question is whether you’ll admit it.

Iowa.

Actually ...

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains
Shenandoah River –
Life is old there
Older than the trees
Younger than the mountains
Growin like a breeze

Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

All my memories gathered round her
Miners lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine
Teardrops in my eye

Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

I hear her voice
In the mornin hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And drivin down the road I get a feelin
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
Take me home, now country roads
Take me home, now country roads

Just want to point out that both the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah River are in Virginia, not West Virginia.  I grew up on the South Fork of the Shenandoah at the foot of the Blue Ridge.

Must you do all the Jelm and Brimstone, “that’s Jesus at the front door now” formatting?

It’s annoying as Hell and makes mr jump over anything you post, without reading it.

Come on. Either cut it out, or just change your avatar.

????  I looked it up because I knew that the Blue Ridge Mountains are in several states, including Georgia The Shenandoah River runs in both W. VA and VA.

Anyways you are fortunate; what beautiful country to grow up in.

The advancement of Christianity is based on attraction rather than promotion.

And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.

Matthew 5:41

The Romans had a law that a soldier could compel anyone in an occupied territory to carry his pack one Roman mile, but no more.  Every Hebrew kid knew exactly how many steps were in a mile because they knew when so ordered the exact point at which they could drop that soldier's pack and go on their way.

But Jesus is saying to do it different.  He's saying to go another mile.  Imagine the surprise a Roman soldier would have when some Hebrew kid didn't throw the pack down but kept going.

Soldier:  "Hey, what are you doing?  Why are you still carrying my pack?  You've already gone a mile."

Kid:  "Yeah, I know.  But I wasn't thinking about the steps.  I was thinking about this Teacher I met.  He says the most amazing things.  For example . . ."

Another mile later, and that soldier gets exposed to 20 minutes of the gospel.  And believe me, he remembered it.  All because someone did something contrary to what the world teaches.
