Washington — A federal judge on Monday imposed professional penalties against lawyers representing President Trump in a civil lawsuit he brought against the IRS and harshly criticized the Justice Department for its handling of the case, concluding that the suit was brought for an "improper purpose."

In a scathing 56-page decision, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams referred one of Mr. Trump's lawyers, Alejandro Brito, to the Florida Bar for potential disciplinary action. The judge limited the ability of a second lawyer, Daniel Epstein, to practice in the Southern District of Florida.

Williams also barred the Justice Department, IRS and Mr. Trump from citing or using provisions of a deal the two sides reached in judicial, administrative, regulatory or other proceedings as evidence of a settlement in the case.

This sammich-gal Williams is a Bronco Bama minion, put in place by The Won. Looks like she is adhering to the proposition that ANY Federal judge is Queen, or King.
Queenie should shut up and make me a sammich.

I'm neither for or against Trump. I'm just against federal judges who think they're Royalty.

"Williams' extraordinary order came in response to concerns raised by a group of 35 former judges about the settlement agreement reached in May.
The deal brought to an end the $10 billion civil lawsuit the president and his two oldest sons filed against the IRS earlier this year over
the leak of Mr. Trump's tax returns by a government contractor."

All the blather from the IRS and the Census Bureau about your information "being safe with them" is a pile of horse plop. I'll remember this during
the next Census in 2030.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
If Trump wanted to create a legacy to be the GREATEST POTUS EVER, he would end the personal income tax completely.  It was launched to pay for World War I at 1% of the working man's income.  Our corrupt, dishonest Congress has used it as an endless source of spending like drunken sailors on steroids!

The income tax was launched with the intention of ending when the war was paid for.  57% of the people in the USA do not pay one dime in income taxes.  I know of at least a score of people making six figure incomes and pay no taxes, one guy, an architect, he has NEVER filed with the IRS....not ever.  I know people living in million dollar homes, driving new BMWs, and on Obamacare.  The endless corruption must end.

The way to begin that ending is to stop the endless funding for Congress to squander every day.  Take away the revenue of income tax.  Let the working man/woman keep what they earn.  We are a consumer nation, so replace the income tax with a consumption tax.  For that person on welfare who has the $2,000 cell phone and clothes that are expensive pay a tax for everything they buy.  The entire criminal world, which is large in the USA pays no taxes.  People making cash incomes largely pay no taxes.

Trump wants to be seen favorably, end the personal income tax on families.  PERIOD!!!!!!!  Shove that down the throats of the do nothing Congress.  Launch an amendment to the Constitution to bring about TERM LIMITS in Congress too.  That would endear him with most folks in the USA, who have long tired of the do nothing Congress.

The Miami lawyer went to Prep School with my little brother.

The Judge is from Miami as well. She was a Public Defender (an efficient one) but very liberal, as most PDs tend to be.

Judge rebukes Trump and DOJ over IRS lawsuit in scathing decision

Quote
A federal judge on Monday imposed professional penalties against lawyers representing President Trump in a civil lawsuit he brought against the IRS and harshly criticized the Justice Department for its handling of the case, concluding that the suit was brought for an "improper purpose."

(snip)

Williams also directed a copy of her order to be mailed to the State Bar of New York and to the District of Columbia Bar, of which acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward are members, respectively. Blanche and Woodward signed documents relating to the settlement with Mr. Trump.

(snip)

Williams' extraordinary order came in response to concerns raised by a group of 35 former judges about the settlement agreement reached in May. The deal brought to an end the $10 billion civil lawsuit the president and his two oldest sons filed against the IRS earlier this year over the leak of Mr. Trump's tax returns by a government contractor.

(snip)

The former judges asked Williams in May to reopen the case between Mr. Trump and his administration, arguing that the agreement they reached to resolve the president's civil lawsuit was "the product of collusion" and a "fraud on the court." The settlement was reached as Williams was weighing whether she even had jurisdiction over the case.

(snip)

Williams also took aim at the government lawyers working the case, saying the Trump administration "failed to defend this lawsuit or to respond to the Court's jurisdictional inquiry because its position would not withstand judicial scrutiny."

EXCERPT

I fail to see how a federal district judge can unilaterally re-open a settled case, just to attack Trump and impose draconian punishment on his attorneys, and issue threats to others who may work for him in the future.  She's also ordering Trump's lawyers to pay the legal fees of the 35 retired judges who complained about the settlement in the first place.  That is way beyond the legal pale.

Obama-appointed political activist collecting a federal paycheck while acting like a fascist.

Congress can end the income tax today without changing the Constitution.

Nope! Not to repeal.
