Buffalo Priest linked to ‘PigBoy666’ account on child porn site faces felony charges

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Jeffrey Nowak, 46, of Lackawanna, the now inactive pastor of Our Lady Help of Christian’s parish in Cheektowaga, appeared in federal court Thursday, after being arrested on child pornography charges.
“I just hope, as a society, we are beginning to default to believing the survivors, instead of questioning the survivors and protecting the perpetrators,” attorney Steve Boyd said. Boyd has represented hundreds of survivors of sexual abuse from the diocese.
“No one is beyond the reach of the FBI,” FBI Special Agent Allen Davis said. “No vestment, no title, no profession, no position of trust places anyone above the law. When someone has earned the trust of a community and is accused of exploiting children, that cuts even deeper.”
Nowak was first placed on leave by the Buffalo Catholic Diocese in 2019, when allegations of inappropriate contact with children and sexual harassment of a seminarian came to light.
