Downstate locales can build new, standalone single-family, owner-occupied, 3 bedroom, 1.75 bath structures to increase population outside Chicago and Cook County by attracting young, growing families.
They need to be strategically priced so younger families can afford them without being designated as "affordable housing" rental properties.
This may steal some young families and recent college graduates from the Northeast where such housing is not being built.
