Wow. I've never seen these commercials before. I came of age in the late 1970s, after Audrey Meadows liberated housewives and brought us the hapless husband of the Women's Lib movement.
I can't imagine any of the women in my family putting up with that crap. Those compliant, submissive housewives must have been cultivated W.A.S.P. dames.
