This is depressing.  Trump says negotiations are off because Iran is in talks with Oman and not us, while Fox Business says talks are "in progress." 

Which is it?  I think a game is being played here, the goal is to drive the cost of oil down, while trying to drive the Stock Market to record levels (the DJIA is within striking distance of an all-time high...oh, just cleared it!  Before today it was 53,055 and is now at 53,090).

Gen. Jack Keane just dropped a truth bomb this morning on FOX:

Our intelligence services know the Pakistani and Qatari mediators “are compromised because they favor Iran at the expense of the United States.” They have misled the Trump administration about Tehran’s real intentions.

Then Keane went after Saudi Arabia. He cited four instances of Saudi influence pulling the president back from wider military action. When the U.S. was ready to open the Strait forcibly, the Saudis denied us their airbase and airspace and actively discouraged the operation - even though they "knew nothing about the details of that operation, nor are they qualified to make that kind of an assumption."

Keane's blunt assessment? They "are not willing to sacrifice" (causalities and damage to their oil reserves) "to rid the Middle East region of Iran's aggression ... They're willing for us to make that sacrifice for sure. They're willing for Israel to make that sacrifice for sure."

This is the thanks America gets for putting the Kingdom under a nuclear and security umbrella since World War II.

Keane’s bottom line: “I think it is shameful that they lack the spine to stand up for their people and the region.”

I agree 100%.  He'll likely cause the repubs to lose both the house and senate and it will likely be bloody, plus he's helping usher in socialism by being such a massive target.

Frankly (and yes, I'm pissed) if the Republicans lose the House and the Senate, they've earned it.

This is the second time that they've had a Republican President, and have pissed away the opportunity to pile his desk with bills for signature. Instead, they've diddled themselves with their thumbs, done bugger-all in the way of moving legislation, and generally given the Democrats their wish list--AGAIN!

Once again, from the jaws of victory, they have pulled defeat.

The only hope those who haven't been primaried out or quit have of keeping their jobs is a Democrat Party doing a swan dive into the Sharia/Socialist abyss.

Oil is one thing - it generates money like you said, but without water they die. No water for 3 days and they all die.

That is BS.  Way off base.  They came from nomadic stock and know how to live in desert conditions.

Most water is used for crops, food which they can buy with oil money.

This bit of reporting shows just how bad the Iran reporting is in the West.

Khamenei directly controls the IRGC, not the other way around, as the blurb would have one imagine. The Iranian "president" is just the head civilian politician; he only has the power that Khamenei grants. They all [ Khamenei, the IRGC, the civilian politicians  ] believe in the same Shia 12er goals: blood, more blood, death, destruction for all living humans.
