It is a different guy. Go back only a few weeks and Trump was defending and apologizing for Iran. Now, he wants to destroy them.
The most STUPID thing Trump has ever said is when he told Israel not to retaliate after an Iran attack, "Because nobody got hurt".

Virtually anyone with an IQ above 60 can now see that they cannot, even the Dems in Congress.

By getting the MOU, though, there was a negotiated cease fire for the Iranians to violate, and with them having done that, the War Powers clock should be re-set, and there are 60 days to find a more viable solution than what we had, by whatever means necessary.

He doesn't just have to deal with Iran, he has Congress and squadrons of Judges braying at his back.

I believe much of Trump's optimism was from one of his 'advisors'; doubtful Hegseth, Cain or Rubio ...  Trump has a tendency to listen to the wrong people.

What has become apparent to him is that there are no 'deals' to be made with Iran.  He knows that they are far from being trustworthy, though all he really had to do was go by their history for the past 40+ years to realize that.

CENTCOM completes new round of strikes on Iranian military targets

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed it had completed another round of new strikes against Iran at 9 p.m. ET on Monday.

The command said it struck Iranian military command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems to "degrade Iran's ability to continue attacking commercial vessels flowing through the Strait of Hormuz."

"Commercial vessel transits through the vital international maritime corridor continue," CENTCOM said in a post shared on X.

"Since early May, CENTCOM forces have helped facilitate the transit of approximately 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil," it added before stating that U.S. forces are "postured and prepared to hold Iran accountable for unwarranted aggression toward civilian mariners seeking to freely and openly transit the strait."

The US likely does not have enough munitions to sustain a prolonged all-out war with Iran — which is already adapting to bypass America’s defense systems in its attacks across the region, an expert told The Post.

While the Trump administration is reportedly considering a “wider war” against Iran, the US’s ability to engage in such a campaign could be undermined by America’s shrinking stockpiles of air defense and long-range missiles, according to Katherine Thompson, a senior fellow in defense and foreign policy studies at the Cato Institute.

“Time is the main factor here. If this goes on for weeks and then we settle into a cease-fire, it could be fine,” she said.

“But I don’t think our munitions are in a great place if this lasts another year or two.”

Saturday’s deadly strike by Tehran that killed two US soldiers underscored America’s already existing logistical challenges in protecting its roughly 50,000 troops stationed in the region, the expert said.

“The attacks make it clear that the size of our presence in the Middle East has become more of a liability … and it shows the effect on our stockpiles used to protect that presence, as retaliatory attacks are still coming at an alarming rate,” she said.

The United Arab Emirates foreign ministry issued a statement Tuesday saying it has “condemned in the strongest terms the renewed hostile attacks by Iran targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with missiles and drones.”

The ministry said the “hostile attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly nations and a threat to their security and stability.”

"The Ministry reiterated the UAE's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding their security and stability,” it added.

Iran has been launching attacks on countries in the Middle East in recent days at the U.S. military has been carrying out strikes against Iranian military targets.

Bahrain, Kuwait say they are being attacked by Iran

The militaries of Bahrain and Kuwait said Tuesday they are defending their countries against fresh attacks by Iran.

The Bahrain Defence Force said it “confronted, intercepted, and destroyed a number of treacherous Iranian aerial attacks” on Tuesday, and that “Iran continues its systematic hostile approach through its sinful attacks targeting civilians in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

Kuwait’s Army said in a statement on X that “Kuwaiti air defenses are currently confronting hostile missile and drone attacks, following the sinful Iranian aggression.”

“The General Staff of the Army notes that if explosion sounds are heard, they are the result of the air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks,” it added.

Iran’s President Says Country in ‘Full-Scale War’ with U.S.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who is subordinate to missing “supreme leader” Mojtaba Khamenei, declared in remarks on Monday that his country is in a “full-scale war” with the United States following the disintegration of a “memorandum of understanding” towards peace.
