Donald Trump announced the agreement on his Truth Social network saying all of the hostages held in Gaza would be released soon and Israel would withdraw troops to an agreed line as the first step to a “Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace”.

Israel said “all parties” had signed the final draft of “phase one” of the deal in Egypt on Thursday morning.

The office of Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said the ceasefire would take effect once the agreement was ratified by his government, which is scheduled to convene at 6pm (1600 BST) on Thursday after a security cabinet meeting.

An Israeli government spokesperson said the ceasefire would go into force within 24 hours of the cabinet meeting. The 20 hostages believed to still be alive in Gaza would then be freed within 72 hours, they said.

Israel’s forces would withdraw to an agreed line in the Gaza Strip that would leave them in control of 53% of the territory, a spokesperson for the Israeli government said.

I see you've switched the subject away from the Iran deal and are now revisiting the Oct 2025 deal.  Once again moving the goal posts, except this time, you have moved them to an entirely different stadium - a baseball field in some Caribbean country.  As you well know, the terms of that deal were conditional, in that Hamas had to do certain things before Israel withdrew.  Hamas violated their end of the deal, thus Israel is not in violation.  But then you knew that already, yet still posted lies.

That happened in the beginning.  But after Hamas repeatedly violated its terms, Israel advanced again.  Of course you know all that.  Yet here you are again posting lies.  So why don't you get back to me after Hamas returns the remains of all hostages (which they have not done) and disarm (which they have not done).  Oh, and then there's that little thing about how they're supposed to stop shooting at Israelis.

The report came as the U.S. military escalated its operations with repeated airstrikes on critical infrastructure, including highways, bridges and energy sites, according to the Associated Press (AP) and Reuters.

The Islamic Republic’s leadership already sent the request to the Yemeni Houthis, Reuters reported, citing two senior Iranian ‌sources and a regional source who spoke anonymously.

President Donald Trump threatened to attack Iranian energy infrastructure, according to an interview with Fox News’s Trey Yingst. It remains unclear if this is the reason the Iranians issued the request to the Houthis.

“I’ll save the energy targets for last, but ultimately we’ll hit energy targets,” Trump said.

Jordan’s armed forces said Sunday that they shot down three Iranian missiles targeting the kingdom as sirens sounded across the country.

One missile fell inside Jordan, but there were no casualties or material damage, according to the state news agency, citing a military official.

The Israeli military said it had detected missiles launched from Iran toward the southern Jordanian city of Aqaba and warned of possible spillover into nearby Israeli territory.

The attack came after CENTCOM completed its eighth consecutive day of strikes on Iran's coastal military targets and IRGC installations.

The International Atomic Energy Agency is investigating reports of an overnight attack on the construction site of Iran’s planned Darkhovin nuclear power plant.

The U.N. nuclear watchdog said the facility was still in the very early stages of construction and contained no nuclear material when it was last inspected.

Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization had earlier condemned what it described as a U.S. strike on the site, calling it a “crime against international law.”

Gen. Jack Keane: US combat operations against Iran ‘likely going to expand’

U.S. military operations against Iran are likely to intensify after two American service members were killed in Jordan, retired Gen. Jack Keane warned Sunday.

“We’re going forward [with] combat operations,” Keane told Fox News’ “The Sunday Briefing.” “I think [they’re] likely going to expand as we go forward, given the reality of what we’re facing with Iran.”

Diplomacy had “failed quite miserably,” according to Keane, adding he did not believe Tehran would offer an agreement acceptable to President Donald Trump.

“I don’t think there’s ever going to be a deal here that would be acceptable to President Trump,” Keane said. “And he’s obviously not going to take a bad deal at all.”

The retired four-star general said the U.S. is attempting to secure and reopen the Strait of Hormuz while reducing Iran’s ability to threaten American bases and Gulf allies.

Regime change was never a stated U.S. objective, Keane said, but weakening Tehran enough to place the government “on a pathway to collapse” remains achievable through military operations, sanctions and a naval blockade.
