🇮🇷 ☢️ New satellite imagery from @vantortech , analyzed by the Institute for Science and International Security, covers four Iranian nuclear sites as of late June: Natanz, Pickaxe Mountain, Fordow, and Esfahan. Three show no meaningful change since the war. One shows something that reads as a direct MOU violation.
At Natanz, almost nothing has moved. The access points to the underground enrichment halls remain unrepaired, personnel entrances still destroyed, vehicle entrances still severely damaged. HVAC chillers sit displaced across the complex, and both primary and backup power systems remain destroyed. A single vehicle was spotted near the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant, destroyed in the original strikes and since covered over by Iran, but nothing suggesting active reconstruction.
At Esfahan, as of June 29: no observed activity at all. The tunnel portals remain backfilled with dirt, exactly as documented in yesterday's imagery. Iran buried its own facility and has left it buried.
At Fordow, Iran added earthen and rocky mounds to the roads leading to the tunnel entrances between May 10 and 18, precisely spaced to form chicanes, deliberate obstacles designed to slow any vehicle trying to rapidly enter or exit the tunnels, not simple debris. Those mounds remain in place as of June 21. The tunnel portals themselves are still backfilled.
⚠️ Pickaxe Mountain is the outlier, and the concerning one. Vehicle activity is now visible on roads leading to the open Western tunnel portals, indicating active construction and hardening work inside the tunnel complex itself. The Institute is explicit about what that means: the MOU signed between the U.S. and Iran requires Iran maintain the status quo at nuclear-related facilities, which should prohibit exactly this kind of construction. Iran separately backfilled the Eastern tunnel portals with dirt back in early May, blocking ground vehicle access there entirely, likely to control ingress and egress rather than abandon the site.
So while Natanz and Esfahan sit frozen and Fordow gets passive defensive upgrades, Pickaxe Mountain is under active construction, in a category of facility the interim agreement specifically says should not be changing at all.
