A Somali fraudster accused of playing a key role in orchestrating a massive $250 million fraud scheme that exploited a federal child nutrition program has been captured in Somalia after nearly four years on the run, the Justice Department announced.

Abdikerm Abdelahi Eidleh, 42, was arrested Thursday in Mogadishu, Somalia, federal authorities said.

Eidleh had been living in Burnsville, Minnesota, before he fled the country.

He’s been on the run since September 2022 and wanted in connection with the “Feeding Our Future” scandal.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
