Quote:
In a 6-3 decision on Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled that a Hawaii law banning concealed carry at businesses and other types of private property that is open to the public is unconstitutional. In the court's opinion, Justice Samuel Alito wrote that Hawaii's "regime hobbles what the Second Amendment protects: the right of Americans to carry arms for self-defense as they go about their daily lives."

"Hawaii’s law prohibiting licensed concealed-carry permit holders from carrying handguns on private property open to the public without the property owner’s express authorization violates the Second and Fourteenth Amendments," the ruling concluded.

In Wolford Decision Supreme Court Tosses Hawaii's Sweeping Concealed-Carry Restrictions

The Court also unanimously rejected Hawaii's argument that its unique culture and centuries-long tradition of restricting firearms justified a different constitutional standard. The Second Amendment, the majority wrote, cannot give way to the "spirit of Aloha" any more than it yielded to the "spirit of the Big Apple" in Bruen or the "Windy City" in McDonald v. Chicago.

Important words: right, to carry, self-defense, go about their daily lives.

Laws are written.

The US Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land.

As long as its Constitutional, Federal Law has Supremacy.

My culture loves to get drunk, but we still aren't allowed to drink and drive.  Written Laws trump "tradition" and "culture" ... and other ways to pull unicorn farts out your rump.

Constitutional Federal Republic ... not a democracy.
"Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it’s entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end." - Alan Simpson, Frontline Video Interview

Sorry, just now waking up (rough night)... but that AI picture triggered me (lol). Obviously my humor needs a few cups of tea to get going.

I think the little AI momma (Sarah Palin) is doing a little bit of brandishing though, which is rightfully illegal (in all states). Not to mention against one (two or three) of the common sense gun rules...

1. Treat All Firearms as if They Are Loaded
2. Never Point the Firearm at Anything You’re Not Willing to Shoot
3. Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger Until You Have Made the Decision to Shoot
4. Know Your Target and Understand What Is Beyond It

In my sleep coma, I can't help by think about using a shopping cart rigged with some sort of mounting system to roll that shoulder-missile around until needed. Might want to leave the kid at home though.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
