Fauci Funded Creation of COVID

This week, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard released "evidence showing how Dr. Anthony Fauci, as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, provided millions in US taxpayer funds to support research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China and how he worked with the Intelligence Community to suppress the truth about his actions, the virus' lab-leak origins, and his role in directing this dangerous research that caused widespread harm and killed millions of people."

"After years of lies, censorship, and cover ups, the American people deserve truth, and accountability," Gabbard said. "The tactics used to hide the truth are straight from the deep state playbook: politicized self-serving leaders like Dr. Fauci covered up their own wrongdoing and abuses of power, manipulated intelligence, lied to Congress, and undermined a duly elected President by restricting his access to vital facts needed to keep the country safe."

Dr. Fauci rebutted Gabbard by pointing out "I've been granted a full pardon by former President Biden for any crimes I may have committed during my many years of service within the US government. It doesn't matter how many people have suffered or died because of what I did. I am completely immune to any prosecution or punishment no matter what evidence Ms. Gabbard may have uncovered or will ever uncover."

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky) questioned whether Dr. Fauci is completely immune, saying "first, it is not clear that a 'blank check' pardon for unspecified crimes is valid. Second, it is not certain that former President Biden actually signed the pardon Dr. Fauci is relying upon. Third, such a pardon only covers crimes committed in the US. The scope of Dr. Fauci's crimes spills over our borders. Millions of his victims resided in other countries. Biden's pardon doesn't immunize Dr. Fauci for those crimes. Since he was acting covertly outside the boundaries of his authority within the US government he cannot shift any of the liability for his crimes to the US government."

"There's also the matter of his aiding and abetting China, a foreign adversary of the United States, in the development of a deadly biological weapon," Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis) said. "This weapon was deployed--accidentally or intentionally--and caused the death of an estimated 15 to 21 million persons. These numbers are similar to the 17 million persons worked to death, shot, and gassed by the Nazis during World War II. The deaths resulting from Dr. Fauci's actions seem like a 'crime against humanity' of a magnitude for which many Nazis were hanged. Anthony Fauci is a bad person, and he ought to be prosecuted, because I believe he did commit crimes."

Muslim Lectures Jew on Genocide

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) chided Jerry Seinfeld for rejecting repeated demands that he say "Free Palestine" in the post-game celebration of the New York Knicks winning the NBA championship. Instead, he said "Palestine doesn't exist."

"Anyone who won't support a free Palestine is a horrific human being," the Congresswoman asserted. "As a Jew, Seinfield should be especially sympathetic to others who are being subjected to the same kind of treatment the Jews endured during the Holocaust."

Seinfeld defended himself, saying "the people that Ms. Omar is purporting to champion are not being sent to death camps for extermination by Nazis. They are living among other Muslims in Gaza, Lebanon, and Israel. There is no Palestinian nation to be freed."

Omar insisted "that's because the Jews stole the land that was Palestine in 1948 and changed its name to Israel--an act every bit as dastardly as anything the Nazis did to the Jews during WWII. Mr. Seinfeld and others who refuse to recognize this are disgusting and need to be called out for their hypocrisy."

"Hollywood Needs a Bailout"

Sen. Adam Schiff (D–Calif) wants "federal money for subsidies for movies to be made in Hollywood. For over 100 years movies made in Hollywood have entertained the world. Lately, though, more and more movies are being made in other states and countries where costs are lower. It's not fair. I've drafted legislation that will help offset the higher California costs by providing more federal support for this historically vital industry."

"Critics say the high cost of making movies in California is our own fault," Schiff observed. "They say that corruption and incompetent government are self-inflicted wounds. Well, Spencer Pratt said this too, but voters rejected his offer to bring clean and efficient government to Los Angeles. That is their right under our democracy. Consequently, there simply is no other way to save Hollywood filmmakers without external infusions of cash."

President Trump said "I doubt that the representatives from the rest of the states will agree to subsidize Hollywood. Movies are made outside of Hollywood for very good reasons. Other states don't have the oppressive layers of regulations and corruption that they have in California. Why shouldn't this competitive advantage be used to the benefit of these other states and the customers who pay to see movies?"

Schiff warned that "these other states may not be able to keep costs as low as they might be in other countries. In the short term they may think they'll be better off, but in the long term our nation may have to face a future where nearly all movies are made in foreign countries. What will happen if these foreign countries withhold movies from us? We saw how disruptive it was when OPEC held back oil during the 1970s. Folks spent hours in lines waiting to buy gasoline. Do we want to have to go through this with movies? I think subsidizing Hollywood is our best bet for preventing such a catastrophe."

LA City Council to Expand Voting Rights

This week the Los Angeles City Council voted 10-5 to place an election reform proposition on the November ballot. Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez explained "most members of the Council are tired of the nonstop harassment over voter ID we're getting from Republicans at the local and national level. I mean, the insistence that voting ought to be confined to citizens is simply unfair. Everyone who resides in the City should have a say in who governs them. This includes individuals who have no mailing address. Why should the homeless and poorest inhabitants of our City be denied a voice?"

The Councilman pointed out "that by eliminating the citizenship restriction we will protect ourselves from the invasion of federal officials trying to ding us for votes cast by undocumented immigrants. Party workers will be free to visit homeless encampments, nursing homes, public housing, businesses, bus stations--anywhere where people may be encountered--register them on-the-spot, help them fill out their ballots and harvest those votes."

He admitted that "some folks will be registered and vote more than once, but I don't see this as a major problem. Almost all of them are voting for the same candidates anyway. So, it's not like we would be distorting the final results by very much. Since we won't need to take the time to verify signatures the final vote tallies will be completed more quickly and the results announced within days rather than weeks as has been the norm under the current system. Hopefully, this will silence the complaints about long delays in determining the winners."

In other California news, the Democrats in the state legislature have drafted a bill (AB 1967) that will allow children to divorce themselves from their parents. Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur (D-District 51) explained "under the bill a child can petition the court to remove his or her parents' custodial authority and substitute county child welfare control or foster placement. If the child is moved to a home or institution that affirms her or his transgender identity they can be given given access to sex-changing drugs and surgery. The gender tyranny of right-wing parents can be replaced by loving affirmation of the child's chosen sex."

Free Chocolate Condoms in NYC

In New York City, gonorrhea rates have doubled over the last 10 years and syphilis cases are rising statewide. Mayor Zohran Mamdani boasted that "my predecessors were negligent in dealing with this crisis, but I have secured a cheap supply of chocolate condoms that we are distributing free-of-charge to those who need them."

Apprised that the condoms are manufactured by a Malaysian company that has been accused of slavery, the Mayor pointed out "none of these slaves are my constituents. I am not responsible for their welfare. I am responsible for the welfare of New Yorkers and will not apologize for keeping the cost of providing for them as low as I can."

Councilwoman Pierina Sanchez, defended the Mayor, saying "the free chocolate flavored condoms are necessary because inequities persist among women, low-income households, and Black and Latino New Yorkers. They are doubly beneficial because they can also be eaten after being used to prevent pregnancy and venereal disease."

In related news, Mamdani has endorsed Darializa Avila Chevalier, for the congressional seat currently held by Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY). Chevalier opposes all deportations, arguing that "it constitutes double jeopardy--something our Constitution explicitly prohibits. Either we deport the person or we prosecute him for his alleged other crimes, but not both. ICE says they are going after the worst of the worst in their deportation efforts, but we don't know who are the worst until they've been tried and convicted for a crime committed in this country. Crimes allegedly committed in other countries are not our responsibility."
