My recollection is that the people of Iran were protesting and were being slaughtered and Trump announced that help is on the way and more people took to the streets and that help never came....the punishments and murders continued.

I think that sequence of events is correct...

5 reasons Trump allies don’t like his Iran deal

Some of President Trump’s most prominent allies in his war on Iran are revolting against the reported contours of his memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Tehran to end the conflict.

Conservative pundits and hawkish Iran experts are warning against any agreement that gives up key leverage against the Islamic Republic, or opens access to badly needed funds, without completely giving up its nuclear capacity.

The text of the deal is not released, but it would reportedly allow Iran to immediately restart oil exports free from U.S. trade and banking sanctions, while Gulf states would contribute to a $300 billion reconstruction fund as part of a final deal.

Iran would commit to never pursuing nuclear weapons and to hand over its enriched uranium, though the details of that process would be hammered out in future talks.

While the memorandum is largely meant to set the terms for future negotiations, Iran hawks are worried Tehran has no intention of following through and will use the financial lifeline and reprieve from fighting to rebuild both militarily and organizationally.

“Ask yourself: Why are so many of us who support and defend President Trump all expressing the same concerns about this deal?” asked Marc Thiessen, a conservative commentator with a line to the president, on Tuesday.

“If we’re wrong release the MOU and show the world there’s nothing to be concerned about.”

Here are five reasons Iran hawks are alarmed:

• The text is not yet available
• Little substance on nuclear program
• MOU allows Iran to resume oil exports
• It creates $300B reconstruction fund for Iran
• Israel’s hands tied on Lebanon

Heck..I’d consider it a win to get the straight opened and make sure they have no nukes. We need to arm the general Iranian population in some way.  Is that worth US lives?  I personally don’t think so.

A storm is growing over President Trump’s deal to end the war with Iran.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreed between the two sides is expected to be formally signed in Switzerland on Friday. It has already been signed electronically by senior figures in Washington and Tehran, including Trump.

But no official text has been made public. The vacuum has been filled by fear, speculation and, increasingly, by leaks of the text that may or may not be accurate.

Trump on Tuesday promised he would go though the MOU “word by word” in public — but not immediately, only in “the next couple of days.”

The bottom line is that Republican lawmakers, especially those of a more hawkish worldview, are deeply uneasy; some prominent conservative commentators are incandescent; and people around Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are making it known that requests to see the MOU have been rebuffed, which they cast as extraordinary and shabby treatment of an ally.

Democrats and liberals are mostly content to let the disarray on the right play out. Their stance, in essence, is that Trump plunged into a reckless and unnecessary war from which he is now willing to pay almost any price to escape.

So Trump is ostensibly negotiating for the Nation of Israel, but he will not allow Israel to see what he, Trump, has committed that Israel will or will not do.

Correct me if I am wrong..I am pretty sure the *Help is on the way* statements brought the people to the streets on several occasions...all to be arrested or shot until they stopped doing it...and Trump stopping making these statements.

Trump admin rejected Israel’s request to see Iran deal text: report

Israel wasn’t given advanced notice of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding that ends the war the Jewish state has been a party to for more than three months, Israeli media reported Tuesday.

“Israel asked to see the Iran-US MOU. the admin said: ‘NO,'” i24 News diplomatic correspondent Amichai Stein reported on X Tuesday.

That closely held document is said to directly affect Israel, demanding a stop to all “hostilities” in the region by US and Iranian “allies.”

Early details leaked Tuesday suggest Israel’s ongoing war on Hezbollah in Lebanon is explicitly mentioned in the text as being part of that cease-fire.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — who on Monday defiantly said Israeli forces would remain in Lebanon “as long as necessary — is among those who have been shut out of seeing the deal, according to a source familiar with Israeli politics.

President Trump said he was displeased with Israel over its weekend strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon, which came as he was finalizing a peace deal with Iran, before suggesting that Syria’s new leaders “take care of” the Iran-backed terror group.

“I’m not happy with the way Israel has handled themselves with Lebanon and Hezbollah,” the president said Tuesday at the G7 summit. “They should have been able to handle themselves faster.”

“Israel is fighting Hezbollah too long, and too many people are being killed,” Trump also said. “You don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody. There are a lot of people in those apartment houses and they’re not all Hezbollah.”

He added that Netanyahu “has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.”

“I did not like that, I let them know that,” Trump said of the Sunday strikes, which he called “too much.”

Senior US officials said Tuesday that Washington is not yet “ready” to publish the document, while Trump and Iranian media said it would be released after Friday’s formal signing ceremony in Switzerland.

A US official described the report of Israel being denied text as “not accurate,” adding that “the United States has remained in close coordination with our regional partners, including Israel, throughout the negotiations.”

A source familiar with US-Israel communications claimed “the Israelis did not make any such request of US negotiators.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is looking to schedule an immediate meeting with Trump, likely back in Washington, a person familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal Monday.

There is just no way that Netanyahu is thrilled about Trump’s plan to stop bombing Iran, something the Israeli leader has been dreaming about for decades.

It was Netanyahu who pulled the United States into this “joint” conflict, selling the narrative that Iran was building nuclear weapons—even when U.S. intelligence confirmed there was no imminent threat.

In the early days of the war, Secretary Marco Rubio admitted that the U.S. went to war because the administration “knew that there was going to be an Israeli action. We knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces.”

If Trump ends the war now, Netanyahu won’t walk away with anything. It’s unclear what the exact terms of the peace deal are—or whether any firm commitments have been made at all—but the U.S. has failed to satisfy Israeli objectives to execute regime change, undermine regional militias, or significantly upend Iranian missile production.

It’s also not clear what this deal will mean for Israel’s military campaign in Lebanon. On a phone call Monday, U.S. senior officials made clear that an Israeli withdrawal was not a condition of the deal, and that if Iran was not able to control Hezbollah, then Israel would have the right to respond.

Israeli officials were quick to condemn Trump’s deal with Iran, The Washington Post reported earlier Monday.

Nobody really knows what’s in the document, and (paraphrasing Taylor Swift) they know he’s a player, and he loves the game. We will see it (contents) when it makes for the best TV coverage.

Here’s my Understanding of the Memorandum: Iran knows, without a shadow of a sounds, that Trump will bomb the shit out them, while letting Bibi do the dirty, nasty work needed on the ground, if they pop their head out of that massive Whack-A-Mole of a region known as the ME.

Thus the “Iran” problem is as settled as it can ever possibly be… pending the cojones on the next X number of POTUSes.

Meanwhile, gasoline will drop to a price that (proportionately) will settle into a new norm, along with new generational “I remember when gas was XXX”, adapted to it.

I wanted to write a piece in that subject, but I can’t possibly stretch that idea into a viable essay.
