Trump says they aren't releasing the specifics about the deal until Friday.  So everyone here hyperventilating, you are wasting your energy.

Why?  I don't think anyone here is hyperventilating at all.  Do you really think that they are going to release all of the specifics if there is anything in the deal that makes Trump look bad??

The strait was toll free forever until this conflict. To suggest that it’s a win is a disgrace.

But, wasn't Iran desperately using the Strait to punish their Muslim brothers for siding with the American efforts to denuclearize them --- and force them to switch sides?     Do you think our efforts to turn Iran into a nuclear-free zone were a "disgrace" @Stevensr123 ?

Trump secretly approved Qatar-Iran cash deal

https://www.israelhayom.com/2026/06/15/trump-secretly-approved-qatar-iran-cash-deal/

Quote
The US secretly approved a financial and maritime arrangement between Qatar and Iran, under which billions of dollars were paid to Tehran in exchange for free passage for Qatari tankers and ships through the Strait of Hormuz, three diplomatic officials now confirm.

This was a deliberate and conscious course of action by the US administration, which allowed its navy to turn a blind eye to the arrangement, in complete contradiction of its declared policy. The move was intended to ease the crisis in global energy markets and curb rising oil prices.

The current revelation proves that the White House had already laid the groundwork at the time for the memorandum of understanding being forged with Iran. In doing so, the administration gave Iranian terrorism a critical economic lifeline at a moment of particularly severe financial strangulation.

The secret US approval, which the sources said was granted about a month ago, dovetailed with Doha's interest in opening a direct channel of communication with Tehran, which began to tighten after the ceasefire. Qatar, fearing a renewed Iranian attack on its facilities after one of its gas installations was attacked during the war, sought to buy security quiet.

While the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia were hit by missile and UAV attacks after the ceasefire, Qatar assisted Iran financially and remained completely protected. As part of this arrangement, Iran demanded access to part of its deposits held in Qatar. Some of the payments were disguised as fees for tankers passing through Hormuz, and a broad credit line of up to $1 billion was also opened for the purchase of goods through Qatar.

Do you think that Iran will remain a nuclear-free zone @Right_in_Virginia ??? They still have uranium.  Oh that's right Iran promised that they would stop making nukes.   *****rollingeyes*****

As for the 'deal' that Trump & Co. made I don't believe we'll know the full agreement as anything in it that makes Trump look bad won't be revealed.

I do feel that Trump lied or was very ill-advised and Kushner made a pretty penny off all of this.

Trump would give Iran the State of Alaska to sign his 'deal'. Trump is a crazy person.
He is maniacally invested in his deal way over the top and utterly abnormal.
There is nothing that Trump will not do or give to Iran for his deal.

Trump should step aside and let objective grounded normal people to negotiate his deal.

Trump is not an objective negotiator. If Iran ordered Trump to dance naked on his desk before they will sign his 'deal', Trump would do it.
Trump will do anything. Trump will give anything, to Iran to get them to sign his 'piece of paper' so he pack up and and run away home.

I agree with you @libertybele   I think what we've been witnessing among several around here is a celebration of Trump's perceived fall from grace ----  and their fascinating contest to choose the most demeaning adjective to describe the President.  First prize winner of this contest receives a weapon suitable for celebratory sky shooting.

Congress, as it is their settled pattern, will be in charge of spreading the misunderstanding, promoting the misanalysis, casting the malign, and spreading the impugning.

I think the wild card in all of this is the reaction from the Gulf States ---- and how unified they are.  Everything I've read and heard is that they want to move on quickly to Phase II of all this  ---- the commerce and reconstruction phases, including Gaza and the West Bank and now adding Lebanon to parts of the agenda.

If nothing else is for certain ---- we do live in interesting times.

The memorandum of understanding with Iran is expected to be released in the next 24-48 hours, according to senior U.S. officials. It was electronically signed by President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf.

I'm guessing the Parliament intern was too busy to sign. Ghalibaf has no authority or power in Iran. But Trump does not care. Any signature from anybody in Iran is 'good enough' for Trump.

That kinda like having House Speaker Mike Johnson sign a treaty for the U.S.  This guy has no legal authority to do such a thing.  I guess Trump is hoping nobody notices that unfortunate fact.  So that electronic document is worthless.

It's already been explained to you here.

The IRGC are purposefully being culled from the recognized government leadership.
Only Regular Forces of the military will represent the signatories.

The Republican Guard become "Rebels" and are dealt with as such.

Secondly, please don't try to rewrite history.  It was IRAN that closed the Strait of Hormuz.  To charge a "Toll".

President Trump canceled the Iranian Siege with one of his own!  And Iran tapped out!  Without putting boots on the ground.

BTW...he actually did achieve "Regime Change"  Two deep in the Ayatollah Household...nobody's seen the gay son since February.

Their basic Naval and Airforce have been destroyed.

So...over the course of sixty days, it was determined who actually had the authority to act on behalf of the Iranian Government (I won't refer to it as a "Regime")

Posters here have suggested it be Israel's chore to deal with the Republican Guard Corps...that's crazy.  They had our SIX during this entire Iranian confrontation...and are NOT a signatory to this specific document...a Memorandum of Understanding.  /S

Anybody who can fog a mirror knows the Iranians cannot be trusted to abide to the letter of any Agreement.

Yet, I refuse to believe Pres. Trump is finished kicking ass over there.

He has to expect the IRGC to break the peace/ceasefire...and well then, it's off to the races!!

Scoop: CIA director doubts Iran's intentions on deal, sources say

https://www.axios.com/2026/06/15/us-iran-deal-cia-director-ratcliffe

Quote
CIA Director John Ratcliffe told President Trump and other senior officials that evidence gathered by U.S. intelligence agencies raises serious doubts about Iran's willingness to make the nuclear concessions the U.S. is seeking in any final deal, according to three sources familiar with those discussions.

Friction point: Ratcliffe isn't the only skeptic in Trump's top team. In internal discussions, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth both expressed concerns and raised questions about the memorandum of understanding (MOU) announced Sunday, while Vice President Vance and U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner advocated for it, according to two of the sources.

(snip)

Vance, Witkoff and Kushner are expected to meet Friday with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, along with Pakistani and Qatari mediators, to discuss that next phase.

(snip)

The MOU says Iran will conduct a dialogue with Oman "to define future administration and maritime services" in the strait, with other Gulf countries participating in that dialogue to reach a solution "in line with applicable international law and sovereign rights" of regional countries, the source said.

(snip)

The MOU also says any final deal will include a "definitive and mutually agreed plan" for the establishment of a $300 billion fund for the "reconstruction and economic development" of Iran, as well as a mechanism for its implementation, the source said.

EXCERPT

Ratcliffe, Hegseth, and Rubio don't like this "deal" but Vance, Witkoff, and Kushner were hot for it.  Makes me wonder if Witkoff and Kushner are bringing Vance into some of their real estate dealings after he leaves office.

Let's see how Netanyahu sabotages this half-measure of a deal.

America still owes Hezbollah

Cotton: Inspection Regime in Iran Can’t ‘Truly’ Work, Have to ‘Take Everything Away’ to Have Guarantee

On Monday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) argued that an anywhere, any time inspection regime can’t truly work in Iran and “the only true guarantee, in my opinion, has always been that they take the route of countries that disarmed in the aftermath of the Cold War and kind of threw open the doors and said, come look at everything, take everything away, we want nothing to do with nuclear research.”

Host Hugh Hewitt asked, “So, is anywhere, any time inspections on demand a [sine qua non] for you of a good deal?”

Cotton responded, “I think it’s an important part, but, to be honest, I’ve never believed that kind of inspection regime can be truly effective in Iran. First off, Iran is twice the size of Texas, and we’re talking about things that might fill up a high school gymnasium, maybe an NFL practice facility. But, second, Iran’s leaders have a long demonstrated history of lying. And the way you know they’re lying is when they’re moving their lips. So, the only true guarantee, in my opinion, has always been that they take the route of countries that disarmed in the aftermath of the Cold War and kind of threw open the doors and said, come look at everything, take everything away, we want nothing to do with nuclear research.”

Vice President JD Vance vowed “not a single cent of American money” will go to Iran under President Donald Trump’s proposed peace deal, pushing back on reported dollar figures and calling them “Iranian propaganda.”

“Not $300 billion, not $24 billion, not any of the money, the dollar figures that I’ve seen floating around,” Vance told Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

The deal centers on a “firm commitment backed up by verifiable action” that Iran will not develop or buy a nuclear weapon, Vance stressed.

“We’re not giving them a red cent of American money,” Vance said, contrasting the deal with the Obama-era JCPOA.

Vance said Gulf Arab countries could invest in Iran only if Tehran “performs their end of the obligation,” adding that any benefits depend on Iran “behaving properly.”

Giving peace a chance Trump told Iranian protesters ‘help is on its way’ — but deal leaves mullahs more powerful than ever: dissidents

Iranians who stood against the regime are left feeling frustrated and angry as details emerge of the peace deal between Washington and Tehran.

Many Iranians who stood against the regime are left feeling frustrated and angry as details emerge of the peace deal between Washington and Tehran — worrying that the Islamist hardliners are now more powerful and entrenched than ever.

President Trump signaled that the US was going to war with Iran’s regime partially over the deaths of thousands of anti-regime protesters. “HELP IS ON ITS WAY,” he posted on Truth Social on Jan. 13.

“They are frustrated that the regime is being left in place, unchecked, and soon to receive economic relief from the United States,” Khosro Isfahani, the research director for the Washington-based National Union for Democracy in Iran (NUFDI) think tank, told The Post.

“They fear this will embolden the Islamic Republic and allow it to redirect the frustration and defeat it suffered at America’s hands into rage against unarmed, innocent Iranians,” he added.

The feeling was echoed by Hessam Rahimian, founder of the Arizona-based Iranian Liberty Foundation group, who said he was “unhappy, upset, [and] angry” by the deal that was made over the weekend.

Trump on Lebanon: 'If Israel can't do the job without killing everyone, Syria should do it'
Trump says he considers the Lebanon war a minor one, and an arena in which Syria can take on Hezbollah in partnership with the United States if Israel under Netanyahu cannot be reigned in.
Jerusalem Post, Jun 16, 2026

"If Israel can't do the job without killing everyone else, Syria should do the job," said US President Donald Trump in a bilateral meeting with the Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday.

Trump says he considers the Lebanon war a minor one, and an arena in which Syria can take on Hezbollah in partnership with the United States if Israel under Netanyahu cannot be reigned in.

"Israel's fighting Hezbollah for too long, and too many people are being killed. You don't have to knock down an apartment house every time you're looking for somebody because there's a lot of people in those apartment houses and they're not all Hezbollah, that I can tell you," the president said.

"I suggested to Israel to let Syria take care of Hezbollah, because to be honest with you, I think they'd do a better job of doing it."

Trump claims, ‘I never cared about regime change’ in Iran, says its current leaders are ‘strong, smart’
By Nava Freiberg

Continuing his remarks about the US agreement with Iran at the G7 summit, US President Donald Trump claims he “never cared about regime change” as a goal in the US-Israeli campaign against Tehran, while reiterating his belief that the elimination of so many senior officials in the Islamic Republic effectively amounts to regime change.

“You talk about regime change. I never cared about regime change. It [was] never a part. But I guess you have regime change because you know better than anybody, the first group, they’re all dead. The second group, they’re dead. A part of the third group is gone,” he says, referring to echelons of the Iranian leadership.

“And we’re dealing with people that I think are very rational people. They were nice to deal with. They were strong people, smart people. I think actually they’re smarter than the first and second group, but they’re not radicalized and they’re, you know, looking to help their country,” he continues.

Scoop: CIA director doubts Iran's intentions on deal, sources say

https://www.axios.com/2026/06/15/us-iran-deal-cia-director-ratcliffe

EXCERPT

Ratcliffe, Hegseth, and Rubio don't like this "deal" but Vance, Witkoff, and Kushner were hot for it.  Makes me wonder if Witkoff and Kushner are bringing Vance into some of their real estate dealings after he leaves office.

Vance certainly has become very 'chummy' with Witkoff and Kushner, so it does appear that way.  There definitely was an unexpected abrupt halt to the bombings and the 'special envoy' took over negotiations while Rubio was sent to work on Cuba.  For me, that raises questions.

As for the 'deal' that is being signed .... that is still a wait and see what happens.

"Help is on the way" .... that is something that the Iranian people have every right to be angry about.  It is very unfortunate and many protesters were slaughtered and nothing was done.

Though it was reported that arms were sent to the Kurds.  ???  What to believe?
