🚨 FROM A SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL ON IRAN:

Do we have a deal yet? "No, but we are very close."  The official estimates that a deal is 75% there, not 100% yet.

"While this is tentative, we feel confident that we will be signing this in the next few days.”

We have agreed to the concepts and the details, but the deal is NOT done until we sign it.

WHAT IS IN THE DEAL:

(1) The highly enriched uranium will be destroyed — “The deal accomplishes that."

(2) There is a long-term commitment that Iran cannot procure a nuclear weapon.

(3) There is a meaningful inspection process.

(4) Iran cannot fund terrorism as we work toward broader peace in the Middle East.

(5) The Hormuz Strait will be open.

Assets ARE NOT immediately unfrozen.  Iran MUST meet its commitments first.

(3) There is a meaningful inspection process.
 :silly:

Just ask the IAEA about how that goes: You can inspect there but not here, military sites are off limits, etc.
Democrats would rather rule over ashes than govern a functioning Republic

Iran won't agree to any of these.  Going to Vienna to sign an agreement is a waste of time that Iran is using to rearm, to shoot down our planes and helicopters.

Iran does not give a damn about ANY deal. Iran is only playing patty-cake with Trump in hopes of getting the billions of dollars.
That is their only interest. Once Iran gets the money, they will throw the rest of the 'deal' in the trash and then continue preparing for the next war.

Trump is a chump. Iran is using Trump's manic obsession with 'making a deal' to make him a useful idiot and a fool.

Knives come out for emerging Iran deal: 5 things to know

The Hill
by Colin Meyn and Mallory Wilson
06/12/26

Iran hawks are already circling as details emerge about an agreement that President Trump said Thursday could be signed as soon as this weekend between Washington and Tehran.

“Any version of this deal with Iran means the leverage is out the window,” said Miad Maleki, a former Treasury Department official now at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), a fiercely anti-Iran think tank in Washington, in a post on the social platform X.

Other prominent allies of Trump who have cheered the war — Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Fox News host Mark Levin and The Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen — have demanded more details while expressing alarm about the reported terms.

Trump on Thursday morning pushed back on Iranian media reports laying out the 14-point memorandum of understanding.

“I am very glad to hear from @POTUS that Iranian media reports about the so-called deal are fake because the deal as described by Iran would be awful,” Graham wrote on X.

Here’s what we know about the deal so far.
  • Nuclear commitments remain vague
  • Mixed signals on sanctions relief
  • Strait of Hormuz reopens
  • When and where
  • Strikes continue
(more)

OK. There is a big positive note in all of this. The most positive point of this Trump sponsored dog-and-pony show is what @Cyber Liberty said.
Trump is obviously lying about how cooperative Iran is to his 'deal'. The most positive thing is, Iran is saving Trump from himself.
Regardless of Trump having childishly naïve and Pollyannaish blinders on, Iran keeps telling him 'go f**k yourself'. That is very positive.

Iran will turn out to be the hero in all this with their stubborn pride by preventing Trump from being the stupid fool he is trying so hard to be.
Every time Trump comes out with some stupid statement saying, Iran is my partner in peace. Iran wants peace. We have an agreement!
Iran immediately responds with, NO! We do not have an agreement. NO! We do not want peace. Iran is making Trump look like a clown.
And in this case, that is as very good thing.

Your family's gains are just incidental to 47's family's financial gains.

In a macro sense, that statement covers anyone employed by someone else’s enterprise, and while they may be indeed incidental to his financial gains, they are anything but that to mine.

It’s far better to recover the 20% plus of my family’s net worth, then gain profits enough to not only recover the 29%, but recovered my calculated losses in potential gains since he took office.

The Internet has brought the immediacy of wars to us, instead of the old school “news at 6 & 11” when we got scripted, controlled summations.

Having said all that, Trump now needs to do something I see as impossible for him to do.

He needs to STFU, and go absolutely dark.

Let the Mullahs wonder what the bleep he’s up to for a minute.

This where we are today, and Iran has purchased another week to continue rearming and rebuilding, all of which will be used against us and our new Allies.  Don't ask me why Trump is playing this game.  It makes no sense!

Not to mention the numerous US personnel both serving in harm's way and KIA?

But hey, nobody is more glad than me that people are out there making money on this. /s

Yeah, this whole deal, including those killed in a mid-air collision, just reached the number killed by one suicide bomber at the Abbey Gate in Afghanistan.

Not to seem indifferent to the suffering of gold star families, and no American life is not precious, but there is a definite (and what would be considered, in the calculus of war) highly favorable imbalance in this conflict.
We took out more of their top people than we lost, total thus far.

If Trump is doing this for financial gain, which I actually don't think is true, but whatever... that's not something IMO to be ok with.

Just my $.02.

I mourn the thirteen as much as I mourn the thousands killed by way of Iranian financing and direct Iranian actions. I support whatever we do in order to take the Iranian government, its Mullahs and thugs, down hard... however long it takes.

I just SMH in wonderment at the fact that you have a difficult time finding anyone who (prior to the engagement initiation) didn't truly believe that something had to be done about Iran, yet a substantial percentage of our population now rejects the fact that something is being done, because they don't agree on how it should be done... or even more directly, who is actually trying to get something done.

That seems to be even the case here.

We've lost some troops... God Bless them all, spent $$$, and been bombarded by 24/7 war news coverage that outpaces the actual war.

I just wish Trump would go dark on Iran for a couple of days.

The Somalis have proven there are much cheaper ways to make money. Maybe selling watches, bobbleheads, and other trinkets and clothing to the faithful and fans, without putting a couple of carrier groups in the fray?

No way a billionaire who has shown so much compassion toward veterans and their families would put our guys in harm's way to make a paltry few million. He'd make over a million if he just kept his paycheck.

I feel sorry for all the Sailors and Marines sitting on these ships waiting...and think of the pilots who  psych themselves up for a bombing run and within 1 or 2 hours before their mission it is called off which has happened several times..this all takes a toll...

Yes, but few, if any would tell you something other than "It goes with the job."
