There’s a vibe that the media gets when it’s about to roll out what it thinks is going to be a story that fits the political narrative. An excitement in the air. A sense of mission. And then the door gets slammed shut.
The media and the usual activists were very excited when a University of Seattle student, who is a man, but claimed to be a woman, got stabbed to death. Not because you know the media wants transgender people to be murdered, but because it would be a politically useful story.
“Our community is mourning the heartbreaking and tragic loss of a talented young Santa Fe community member, Juniper Blessing. Acts of violence against trans community members must stop. My heart is with Juniper’s family, friends, loved ones as they mourn this profound loss,” Mayor Michael Garcia declared.
You would think that the mayor would want acts of violence against all people to stop, but what do I know.
