I have long thought there would be a decisive shift to this political stalemate(actually slow death of freedom from the Romney types) .... anyways.
The movement of democraps to the far fascist left is complete. There are no more Zell Millers, or Joe Lieberman's.. even the honorable left, ..it died with Patrick Moynihan... so long ago.
Across America there has been a significant shift from "D" to "R" , especially amongst core democrap demograpics. Hispanics are a natural fit in the conservative realm, blacks should be too.. why they are not is a separate consideration I do not wish to broach at this juncture.. but even they are leaving the democrap plantation in ever increasing numbers... this is a good thing, MLK would be proud.
In chemistry there is a thing called "precipitation of a solution". That is when an aqueous solution is so finally balanced that the addition of a single drop of water(or pure elements) containing additional elements needed to reach that critical point.. results in a solid precipitating, as if a snowstorm into a solid.
Hopefully we have reached that point, and will see a political snowstorm. Resulting in a solid majority of peoples who desire freedom.

Lord, such a long road. As a Young man, the heady times of Reagan, Thatcher, Pope John, Lech Walesa... dark hair has long turned grey... Please Lord, make it so before evil causes undo death.
