As you likely know, a California mayor has been forced to resign after the Department of Justice charged her with acting as an illegal agent of China.
In other words, she was a Chinese sleeper agent.
Eileen Wang, the now-former mayor of Arcadia, California, has agreed to plead guilty to a felony count for working on behalf of the People’s Republic of China. Federal prosecutors say Wang followed directions from Chinese officials and helped circulate propaganda about Beijing and never told the U.S. government.
That’s illegal.
Now, she could face up to 10 years in prison.
This is exactly the kind of foreign-influence story the media claims to care about, at least when it can be used to chase Republicans around with wall-to-wall coverage. But when the story involves a California official, China, and what now appears to be a money trail straight into Dem coffers, all of a sudden the media is quiet as a church mouse.
Funny how that works, right?
