Trump releases first batch of the UFO files with new videos and evidence fueling theories of 'extraterrestrial life'

The Trump administration on Friday released its long-awaited UFO files, publishing hundreds of previously unseen videos, photographs and records tied UFOs.

The documents were uploaded to the Department of War’s website months after President Donald Trump ordered Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to declassify government records related to UFOs and alleged extraterrestrial activity.

Trump celebrated the disclosure in a Truth Social post shortly after the files went live, saying he had directed federal agencies to release information tied to 'alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).' 'GOD BLESS AMERICA!' the president added.

Among the most striking materials were images and transcripts linked to NASA’s Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 moon missions. One photo taken from the lunar surface appears to show three unexplained dots hovering in the dark sky above the moon.

An Apollo 17 mission transcript also detailed astronauts discussing mysterious objects drifting near the spacecraft during flight.

'Now we've got a few very bright particles or fragments or something that go drifting by as we maneuver,' one operator told mission control.

Another replied: 'There's a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there - just bright. It looks like the Fourth of July out of Ron's window.'

The disclosure also included FBI images from New Year’s Eve 1999 that appear to show unidentified objects near US military aircraft, along with photographs captured by military pilots allegedly showing fast-moving objects streaking past planes mid-flight.

 Pentagon releases dozens of UFO files Trump teased as ‘very interesting’

The War Department released more than 160 files Friday related to sightings of UFOs dating back nearly 80 years, two days after President Trump predicted, “I think some of it’s going to be very interesting to people.”

The disclosure of 162 files by the Pentagon follows a presidential order from February calling for transparency around “alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).”

“The American people can now access the federal government’s declassified UAP files instantly. The latest UAP videos, photos, and original source documents from across the entire United States government are all in one place – no clearance required,” the Pentagon said in a post on X broadcasting the file dump.

“While past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President Trump is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public, who can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files.”

Among the documents published Friday were a trove of intelligence reports and FBI case files that included apparent eyewitness testimony and public reports about possible sightings over the years.

A chunk of the FBI files come with a note admitting that some of the information had already been “partially” been made public.

Transcripts from NASA astronauts reporting unidentified objects on missions were also included in the initial batch of documents, which other files just included news clippings about apparent UFO sightings dating back to the 1950s.

I considered Quix (Del) a "Friend of the Forum," we'd spoken on the phone a couple times.  Nancy and I were very saddened when we hear he had passed.  He lived in Arizona, but had moved to Colorado a few years before he passed, I hoped it was to get closer to his family.  He loved making pottery with inscriptions from the Bible.

He was a devout Christian, so he's probably in heaven watching down at us, at the side of Christ!

He was an interesting guy. I bought a bowl he'd thrown, and he sent a plate, too. Both have inscriptions on the underside, and they're on my desk. He would have loved this!
