A nutty Chicago alderman is demanding that Walgreens be charged with a crime for shuttering a store in a high-crime neighborhood.

According to Ald. William Hall, Walgreens closing down a store in the 6th Ward, where locals have been robbing it blind, amounts to what he calls “corporate abandonment.”

“Walgreens should be charged with first-degree corporate abandonment,” he confidently asserted during a press conference held Monday outside the closing Walgreens store. “It should be a crime the way they’re treating our elders [and] our families.”

Shuttering a Walgreen's to me would be no big deal.  They are pretty incompetent. Many times I'd go to the store after I received notification that my prescription(s) was ready only to get there and it wouldn't be ready.  I expressed my disgust at their incompetency a couple of times and then they told me I needed to go elsewhere.  Fine.  They did me a favor.  I now got to our local hospital pharmacy.  I can order refills on line and my prescriptions are generally ready within a few hours.  I've never had a problem.  With Walgreen's errors were continual and the frustration in dealing with them just wasn't worth it.  The hospital pharmacy is about 10 minutes further away -- the drive is worth it.  As an added bonus, when I pick up my prescriptions they have a shaded 'wellness' trail which I walk.  It is enjoyable.

Mrs. Liberty and I used CVS, and when they pissed us off by not having her scrip and refused to tell us when they would, we took our business to Walmart.  When they pulled the same act, we went to a small local Pharmacy and we've been there ever since!

We use Express Scripts...for military...in an emergency we use Walgreens or Kroger...both pathetic..
