U.S. Apache Helicopter Crashes Over Strait of Hormuz, Pilots Safely Recovered Says Trump

President Trump confirmed two crew members of a U.S. Army Apache Helicopter that crashed near the Strait of Hormuz are uninjured and “fine”.

A U.S. Army AH-64 Apache, a helicopter gunship well suited to patrolling waterways and hunting small attack boats, was lost on or near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday. Its two crew members were rescued and it is not immediately clear why the crash happened.

U.S. President Donald Trump made a brief statement on the loss as he boarded Air Force One overnight, stating: “the pilots are fine… nobody injured. We are going to issue a report tomorrow but the pilots are fine”.

UPDATE 0700 ET — CENTCOM statement

Following the comments from President Trump earlier, the promised report from U.S. Central Command has now arrived. They said two crew members from the Apache helicopter were rescued at 19:33 Eastern Time on Monday evening, which would make it the early hours of Tuesday morning local time in the Persian Gulf “after their helicopter went down near the coast of Oman while patrolling regional waters.”

The two crewmembers were “safely rescued” after two hours and are in stable condition, CONTCOM said. An investigation into the crash is now underway.

You still don't get it.  Sometimes you come close, but scutter away as though it's too physically hot to even consider. 

This is the President's POV regarding war in the Middle East: 

Trump's thinking outside the box .... trying to prevent another ME generation from fighting the same damn war.  You don't do this by sending in the usual clowns to rehash the same worn out playbook and proposals.

Trump's trying to move the region from the battlefield to new alliances forged in the arena of global commerce.

Let Trump be Trump ---  He's not trying to herd cats, he's trying to remold a bastion of tribal animosities. 

Sincerely wish him luck.  This could be his finest hour --- and ours.

@Right_in_Virginia That is a great idea, and I hope that it comes to pass. That said conflict in this region has been going on for literally thousands of years. To think that you can change hearts and minds in several months may be the height of hubris. I am not sure if you can change it in a generation, it might take two or even three generations. Anwar Sadat allowed himself to be assassinated in 1981 to try and get the Camp David accord accepted by his country.

Trump says peace deal with Iran could come in ‘two or three days’

The U.S. president said the agreement will prohibit Iran from having nuclear weapons and result in the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that, despite the exchange of strikes between Iran and Israel, a deal to end the war in the Middle East could be reached “in two or three days.”

“They were going back and forth [with strikes], and now they both agreed, through me, to stop, and now we’re in the final throes of what will be a very, very good deal,” Trump told reporters in New York, where he was attending the NBA finals in Madison Square Garden.

Trump said the deal would stop Iran from having nuclear weapons and result in the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. “The strait will open up right away,” he insisted. “It’ll open up immediately upon signing.”

It is not the first time that the U.S. president has promised an imminent end to the war in Iran, which has been raging since February. Weeks have passed since Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that negotiating a deal to end the war in Iran could “take a few days.”

Well yeah,sorta kinda. The oldest generations had to die off to rid themselves of the shitty thinking of at least two of the older  generations.

When it comes to the Iranians you have to kill ALL of the old guard IRGC and mad mullahs.

And by kill them all I mean kill them all. Then put the Persians in charge

Trump says Iran responsible for shooting down Apache helicopter, says US must respond

President Donald Trump blamed Iran for shooting down a U.S. Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night, vowing to respond in a Tuesday post on Truth Social.

"I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache Helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. There were two pilots involved, both are safe and uninjured," Trump wrote.

"Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Trump concluded.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a historic rescue mission for the helicopter pilots Tuesday morning, while officials confirmed to Fox News that the downed pilots were rescued using an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) sea drone in a first-of-its-kind mission.

CENTCOM loads military copter for aerial sniper mission on Arabian Sea in daring new photos

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) posted photos Tuesday of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit loading weapons onto a UH-1Y Venom utility helicopter for aerial sniper and close air support training.

The photos, which CENTCOM posted to X on Tuesday, showed the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit landing the helicopter on the deck of the USS Tripoli amphibious assault ship in the Arabian Sea.

Additional photos showed the Marines wielding large combat weapons, including a and a large Mini gun and a Barrett M107 sniper rifle.

CENTCOM posted the photos on the same day it announced a rescue operation of two U.S. service members in international waters near Oman.
