Ruben Gallego (D., Ariz.) is taking heat after a sexual misconduct scandal forced his good friend, California Democrat Eric Swalwell, to suspend his campaign for governor and resign from Congress. "An important question everyone should be asking: what did Senator Ruben Gallego know and when did he know it?" journalist Yashar Ali wrote on X.

Gallego, who chaired Swalwell's short-lived presidential campaign in 2020 and served alongside him in Congress for years, endorsed the congressman's bid for governor on March 26. The Arizona Mirror described Swalwell as "one of Gallego's closest friends in Congress." In 2021, they took their spouses to Qatar on a luxury junket, met with terrorist-adjacent charity officials, and posed shirtless while riding camels in the desert.

Before abruptly withdrawing his endorsement last week—amid reports that Swalwell allegedly raped a former staffer and behaved inappropriately toward at least three other women—Gallego initially rode to his buddy's defense.

Rep. Eric Swalwell finally quit Congress on Monday amid accusations of rape and sexual abuses, but the larger scandal is how long he got away with it.

Fellow Democrats kept mum for years, though his sleazy behavior toward women has reportedly been long known; nor did the left-leaning media in California or Washington investigate the rumors — even after he notoriously fell for a Chinese “honeypot” agent.

Dems plainly only turned on Swalwell in a bid to thin the field in California’s governor race, where two Republicans now lead the nonpartisan “jungle” primary and so might lock out the donkeys in the November runoff.

The mysterious clip appeared on social media Sunday as Swalwell was hit with sexual harassment allegations that forced him first to drop out of the California governor’s race and then resign from Congress. Swalwell has denied the sexual misconduct allegations.

In a matter of days, the former Democratic front-runner for California governor has had a stunning political collapse — suspending his campaign before announcing his resignation from Congress on Monday amid accusations of sexual assault from four women, including an ex-staffer who claims Swalwell raped her while drunk at an April 2024 charity gala.

“I am no longer associated with a man that takes advantage of women,” Cloobeck said. “I support women’s rights.”

Understand he's resigning his seat so motion to expel is moot. But is there any way the American people can have a bill to revoke lifetime retirement/other benefits to Congresspersons who commit crimes while in office. Asking as I'm preparing to pay taxes on 4/15 to fund these monsters.
