A major new development in the Charlie Kirk assassination case has defense attorneys for accused killer Tyler Robinson claiming the bullet recovered from the Turning Point USA founder’s autopsy does not match the rifle allegedly used by Robinson.

According to a court filing submitted Friday, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has been unable to identify or link the fatal bullet to Robinson’s weapon. Kirk was killed instantly by a single rifle shot to the upper body that tore through his carotid artery during the September 10 incident at Utah Valley University. While the defense acknowledges the bullet could be damaged or deformed from impact, the lack of a match is being presented as potentially exculpatory evidence.

The ballistics didn't match. This is concerning.
There are a million things about Kirk's alleged assassination that don't make sense, but the one thing that makes the LEAST sense is the official story.

This non-story was reported in the Daily Mail.

This is clickbait trash and completely discrediting to the @DailyMail.

Spoke to a LEO who told me fragmentation that makes it impossible to get a match to ANY weapon happens all the time. Yet the Daily Mail is echoing Tyler Robinson’s defense team nearly verbatim. They did NOT quote a single law-enforcement officer not connected to Robinson’s defense who would’ve given their readers a better understanding of what’s happening here.

They’re purely leaning into this because they know there are a bunch of rabid conspiracy theorists who will not take the time to understand this.

Which makes the Daily Mail and its reporter scum in my book.

What a misleading headline from The Daily Mail.

The ATF ran a tool mark analysis on a bullet jacket fragment recovered from Charlie's autopsy. The result was "inconclusive" — not "no match."

The jacket was too fragmented to compare, which also partially explains the lack of an exit wound. The bullet shattered on impact.

"Inconclusive" means insufficient evidence to draw any conclusion. It doesn't mean the bullet "did NOT match" the rifle like the headline says.

The defense wants to use "inconclusive" as exculpatory evidence — but the prosecution wants to run chemical or molecular analysis comparing the jacket alloy to ammunition recovered with the gun. Unlike tool mark analysis, it doesn't require an intact bullet.

The defense is trying to block that testing from happening.

That's the nuance of the real story.

A major new development has rocked the Charlie Kirk assassination case: the bullet recovered from the Turning Point USA founder’s autopsy does not match the rifle allegedly used by accused killer Tyler Robinson.

Robinson’s defense team filed a motion Friday seeking to postpone his May 18 preliminary hearing, citing an ATF report that found toolmark analysis on the bullet jacket was inconclusive due to extensive damage. The filing states plainly: “The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was unable to identify the bullet recovered at autopsy to the rifle allegedly tied to Mr. Robinson.”

Kirk was killed instantly by a single rifle shot that tore through his upper body and ripped open his carotid artery during the September 10, 2025 incident at Utah Valley University. While the defense acknowledges the bullet could be deformed from impact, the lack of a match is being presented as potentially exculpatory evidence. The motion also notes that DNA reports from the FBI and ATF show multiple different profiles on some evidence items, adding further complexity.

He's distancing himself from the cover up that Charlie was assassinated by the deep state.

There are much bigger powers at work here than local law enforcement. Somebody got to this guy. He or his family have likely been threatened.

The bullet was too fragmented to test to come to a definitive conclusion, however that is only one part of the equation in this particular case.

There are rumors that the Deep State assassinated Kirk .... something likely we'll never know.  Kirk's assassination was a huge crushing blow to conservatism.  Kirk was able to reach younger voters and I believe was instrumental in getting Trump re-elected.  There's just no replacing someone like him.  You don't readily find someone with his 'people skills'.

As I often say in the weather board... another wonderfully demure and understated headline from the Daily Mail.

But it's not about the truth, it's all about giving the Candace Owens crowd enough ammo (no pun intended) to fuel their smears.
