Trump Halts All Strikes On Iran Power Plants During ‘Constructive’ Negotiations

President Donald Trump announced Monday morning that talks had started between the United States and Iran.
Oil prices climbed since Operation Epic Fury began, with WTI Futures Crude Oil closing at $98.32 Friday, up over $30 from the market’s $67.02 close on Feb. 27, the day before the conflict with Iran started, according to Investing.com after Iran attacked multiple vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said the Iranian power plants would be spared for five days, pending the outcome of the talks. “I am pleased to report that the United States of America, and the country of Iran, have had, over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Based on the tenor and tone of these in depth, detailed, and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the department of war to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions.”
In a Saturday post on Truth Social Trump previously gave Iran a 48 hour deadline to allow traffic through the Strait of Hormuz before he would start striking Iran’s energy infrastructure.
